Modified System

Since Robert was now going to get what he needed from Armless, he commanded that Max should be returned back to his glass room before he got his five answers. The giant Blue Force and the Heat Gifted stood as guards after taking him back.

The Vampire Slave who could not heal himself, even the way humans could do, was left in terrible pain sensations and damaging agony of infliction. His entire back was in an appearance akin to a brittle bone plate that tested the torture of destructive flames. It looked black, the skin was mostly gone, and some red flesh was visible like glowing hues of a dying hot metal plate.

Max lied on his belly, his breathing haphazard. His curiosity unconsciously diverted his attention from the pain in his back to his two guards that were discussing something important:

"...I have suspected betrayal was going to be the end of their relationship in one way or the other." said the giant one. Shaking his head, he added: "Hazel was too young for Cameron, so why wouldn't Alpha Baren select someone as young as herself in the first place to become her mate?"

The wicked one who heated the wall that was used to punish Max said absentmindedly, "The Behest Courier might pass out a new message from the Absolute Law anytime regarding what she did. What do you think would her punishment look like?"

"I don't know." The giant shrugged. "Not her alone, how about the man she had chosen to betray Cameron with? Wouldn't he also face a punishment?"

Hissing, "This will turn out to be more interesting." The Gifted paused. "I mean, a mysterious man that no one still knows, a man that even the Truth Mist could not make the Princess tell her father anything about him, his identity to be exposed by the Absolute Law..."

Taking his attention from their interesting conversation by his instincts, Max felt some new sensations in his burnt back. His eyes could still see nothing but he could colorfully imagine the way his back was shimmering with faint blueness. Lucas was silently intervening again, telling him he was watching everything that was happening to him or that which already happened.

Strangely, there was no Vampire System notification.

The strength of the blue color covering the Vampire's back was not attention demanding. It embraced his whole injured back in a way that it had the healing process that was very pleasurable hidden from the witness of the naked eyes. When the blue glow slowly died, a new, fresh skin was all that it left behind.

Max voiced in his mind:

'You are not saying anything, are you? Assuming what foolishness you might want to say... Maybe something like: my favorite slave, it has been a long time. Have you gotten what you came looking for in Royalty Pack? No. And I told you...' Max's eyebrows tightened. 'But you found out that, wait, wait. Robert needs to know something about you, Lucas!

'That means... It means... If a Vampire Slave can be found in Royalty Pack, then I can find Evelyn here as well.'

Series of ideas and possibilities began occupying Max's system of thoughts throughout the day. There outside, meanwhile, the sun didn't stop descending either. It moved down behind the cloudy sky of Royalty Pack in a non suspicious speed, until the big blue moon inherited its duty.

And then Max's vision returned;

And then the Vampire System:

'It is happening again. I don't get this but it is, maybe it is hard to believe...'

'And if I should choose Dualbloom...'

Thinking of choosing the Dualbloom form, Max looked to his side as he noticed a giant figure at the same time stopping between him and the brightness earlier sipping through the spotless glass wall. Hence, he had to dismiss the idea of changing his form because it could serve as a trump card if things should go the negative way for him.

The giant Werewolf spoke in murmurs as he entered: "Midnight, your first mission time."

Already, the giant was dragging Max along with him out of the... glass bathing space? It was hard, even for someone as rich as Max, to think such a "nice" place was for bathing.

Whatever the place might be...

Max walked without any stubbornness just the way the giant loved it. After all, what feeds a thuggish Blue Force more than food does was the feeling of superiority over especially Vampires.

In an angrily pressed voice, "What mission are ya talking about?" Max asked the giant, his chained wrists held together by the giant while his fists were clenched.

'What is this aggressive sense?' Max initially wanted to shrug it off; something felt wrong to him since when the night started;

In some words, a foreign trait of not to be submissive to anyone, not anyone but everyone! — talkless of a Blue Force Werewolf? — was slowly taking charge of his mind. It was nothing like himself, it was like he wanted, like he wanted to mercilessly kill the man walking behind him.

As the feeling kept growing and enlarging, it took his full self-control to not choose Dualbloom or Void Emotion and to attack the giant.

'Void Emotion huh, not now. Not now.'

Even without that foreign trait of violence that was suddenly becoming a part of him, it wasn't like Max wanted his new back to be roasted again by the Heat Gifted. But to be treated "tenderly" by Robert, he knew he must behave like a good boy.

'And Robert is the man currently standing in my way. How do I kill him when I see him? His blood tasted good if I can remember... Stop !Nothing good in blood.'

"..but don't worry," The giant paused speaking — Max not realizing he had been speaking for the whole time — and inhaled, smirk painting on his lips: Devilish symbol. "If it is anyone, not a Vampire Slave, then I'll be worried that death is definite for such a mission in that deadly valley. But you are not dying, can you?"

And like that, Max was accompanied down the black helix stairs. Slowly, he was now finally seeing Robert coming to his view standing alone.

Robert had his arms crossed behind him and his humorous green eyes were examining Max when he said as he smiled, "It is time you hunt some fellow Vampire Slaves." He grinned. "Yaaah, shitting yaaah." He then grinned further.
