Trip to Karak

2 days later, Chernov and Serina reached Sevastopol and found out who the rest were going to Karak.

A bald middle-aged man wearing a military coat and two generals are already waiting for him.

Chernov remembered he had once seen the bald middle-aged man in Lubyanka, and he was sure this guy was one of the high-ranking officers in the KGB.

The man also sees Chernov and walks towards him enthusiastically.

"Colonel Chernov, nice to meet you, I think you might have seen me before, however, let me introduce myself again, my name is Imran Zakhaev, one of the senior officers in KGB."

He then starts introducing the other general.

"This is General Dimitry Yazov and Sergey Akhromeyev, both of them will also follow us to the Karak."

Chernov salutes them, and both salute with a smile in return.

They boarded a ship from the black sea fleet and went to Karak.

Chernov recognizes this is the Kirov class battlecruiser, called 'Admiral Ushakov', which she should be in Leningrad or Baltic.

He is curious about why this ship will be here, so he asks Zakhaev.

"Well, it is just lucky that she was not in Leningrad or Baltic when we were transferred here, she then found a way back to Sevastopol, which I will say she is super lucky."

Listen to what he said, Chernov suddenly thinks of those tens of nuclear submarines that always execute their mission outside the country, how is their fate?

He shakes his head, trying not to think about it, many soldiers and equipment have been lost since they were transferred here.

Two days later, the group finally set foot on the land of this unreliable ally for the first time.

The ship is docked at a port built with the Soviet aid.

A once-only small and infamous fishing village has now become the biggest and most advanced port in the Karak.

Outside the village, Chernov can also see a large number of Karak troops stationed outside the port.

Except for the Kirov class battle cruiser, many cargo ships from the USSR also exist.

Inside these cargo ships, some are luxury products that are specially provided to the lord, but more are just basic needed products provided to ordinary people, like potatoes and clothes.

All these products also help the Karak army on the front line, they do not need to wait for farmers to harvest the crop, then collect by the governor, and at last only send it to the frontline.

What they need to do now is just send all the potatoes provided by the Soviets to the frontline.

"What a huge monster."

In the distance, a man wearing a military uniform different from that of the Soviet army said with emotion to the Kirov class battle cruiser that had already docked.

"General, we need to welcome our guests now."

Adjutant beside him saw his general still staring at the warship, he quickly reminded.

"Oh yes, we got a job to do."

The general then quickly walks towards to Chernov group.

"Gentlemen from the USSR, welcome to the Karak, let's have a rest first, we will prepare transport to send you all to the frontline."

"Ah also Serina, we got something to find you also."

Serina then been brought away by the adjutant, and Chernov four of them also did not wait for too long.

Not even one minute, a transport that looks like a carriage has reached in front of them.

Two horses were tied in front of it to pull the carriage.

If something looks like a carriage and works like a carriage, then it is a carriage.

Chernov felt a little bit disappointed, he still thought there would be something new.

But at the moment the carriage moved, its speed did not act like a carriage anymore, more like a train.

"Bylat! What the hell?"

Chernov had a little shock in his heart, as he heard nothing about it from Serina.

As he is still thinking about whether the Karak can send their troop with this speed, he then sees all those traditional transportation that are still using to send potatoes to the front line.

Seems like a carriage like this is only for VIPs, and is limited, at least they will not be able to transport their army.

Of course, this prediction is not accurate, just a brief guess.

The carriage stops in a small town after two hours.

On the journey, they saw the fields and agriculture of the Karak, it is beautiful, but obviously, they can see the production is low.

They all then leave the carriage and have a walk in the town.

If it was not the driver told them this is a town, and they would just think of this as a small village.

Houses are mostly built of wood, minor build by built by stone, and also most importantly the population here is only a few thousand.

Surprisingly, they see some doctors, and engineers from the USSR, who are also in the village.

Doctors are treating people here with their advanced medical skills, and engineers are commanding people here to build new houses, and also irrigation works.

Yazov first found an engineer here to talk to,

"Comrade engineer, when did you guys come here?"

The engineer was stunned when he saw someone wearing the Red Army general uniform talk to him, but he quickly reacted and said,

"Comrade General, we reached here one month ago. Everyone here came to volunteer when we heard that people here needed our help."

Four of them look into the other eyes, they came here just not long after the agreement between Karak and the USSR was made.

Yazov then continued to ask and pointed to the construction,

"So what are you all going to build here?"

The engineer took a look at the construction site and smiled proudly,

"First we will build a clinic here, as you can see, children and people here have poor medical conditions, and without a clinic, we can not help them with some disease. In the future, we also plan to build a school to provide education opportunities to people here, like teaching them the better way to farm, but I heard from my leader that Karak is very opposed to teaching them knowledge, so we still waiting for further orders."

Yazov nodded his head and also praised the engineer.

"Well done comrade, our country needs someone like you all to achieve socialism. Keep it up!"

The group then continued to walk for a while until the driver informed them to continue the trip.

A few hours later, the night has come, and they also finally reach the capital of Karak, Karakum.

The driver brings them to a newly built building that has a modern style and is very obviously built with modern materials like RC structure.

"Gentlemen, this is your country's embassy, have a rest tonight, we will reach the frontline tomorrow. Good night!"

After saying this, the driver controls his carriage and goes somewhere.

Looking at the building in front of him, Chernov sighed,

"Efficiency during war is fast!"

The building is not big, but also can not be considered small.

It has a size of a small commercial block, and in front of it, are spaces for the embassy to put their stuff.

The ambassador has already waited outside for them,

He first introduced himself and brought them to places for them to rest.

The second day, they continue their journey.

This time, with only a few hours, they have already reached the frontline.

Just as they walked out of the carriage, a middle-aged and a young man welcomed them.

Both of them wear armor, that is similar to the Roman, but they can still vaguely see some purple-blue light floating on the armor.

Perhaps it is their magic that they apply to it.

"Welcome our guest from the USSR, I am the marshal of the expenditure forces of the Karak. You guys can call me Alexander. Beside me is my deputy general Jack, he will be your guide during your journey."

Chernov and the other four then also introduced themselves to them.

"Excuse me, gentlemen, I will need to go back to my position now, we are now having a highly intense combat with the orcs. I believe you all will be interested too, Jack, bring our guest to the frontline."

"Sure Marshall, gentlemen, this way."

Jack held out his hand to lead the way.

When they are heading to the frontline, Jack is secretly watching four of them.

With his excellent reasoning and observation skills, plus his ability as a Tier-4 wizard, who is responsible for the army intelligence, he quickly concludes that the bald and the young are someone who did the same thing as him, and the other two are typical generals in an army.

Both Zakhaev and Chernov also make the same conclusion, Jack is an agent of an intelligence agency.

Yazov and Akhromeyev did not realize this, both of them just observed all the dead bodies that remained on the battlefield, trying to think of the way both armies fight.

Not long later, they finally see the front line.

Jack takes them to a high observation point so that they can see the whole battlefield.

The two armies formed a hundred-man formation one after another, just like the ancient armies.

As for now, Chernov can observe that the battle already entered a critical moment, many of the formations had already been destroyed by various types of weapons or even magic.

Dead bodies from both sides cover the whole battlefield.

Suddenly, a man from the Karak side who stays behind the tens of hundred-man formation rises to mid-air, and both of his hands are still making handprints mumbling something.

Jack explained to them,

"Gentlemen, look at it that way, it is one of the strongest, bravest, and most talented warriors in our army, take a look and see how will he destroy those orcs."

A small fireball began to appear in front of him and kept getting bigger.

After about a minute, the fireball had become as big as a water tank.

The man who shouted, and threw the ball to the formation of the orcs, immediately, one of the hundred men formations of the orcs evaporated, and destroyed another four formations around it, leaving a big hole there.

Yazov and Akhromeyev immediately take out their notes and camera to record about it.

Akhromeyev even used a Rangefinder binoculars to see how big is the hole.

Jack stands aside, looking at them, his heart is already blossoming with joy, a bunch of non-magical country bumpkins, barbarians.

You guys must be amazed by our strong magic.

What Marshal tells him about how the Soviet Army fought against the orcs and the undead, he does not believe at all.

Just treat it as the fake news made by the Soviets.

At the same time, he also blames all the high-tier wizards in his heart, how can they spread this kind of fake news in the army?

Zakhaev beside him seemed to have known what Jack was thinking, then asked him with smile,

"Jack, may I know how much have you guys advanced since the battle began?"

Listen to the question Jack immediately answers his pride,

"We started the battle one week ago, and in this one week, we have killed almost a hundred thousand of the orcs, and advanced for almost 50 kilometers."

Everyone feels amazed after listening to his answer.

Jack saw their feelings also and asked,

"I believe it is difficult for the Soviet Army to do this, am I right?"

Zakhaev also answered him with a smile,

"Of course, it is such an amazing thing, our army definitely can not do this in a week."

Chernov and the two generals also have a smile on this.

Jack suddenly felt something wrong, Did they not understand what he was saying?

He immediately uses his ability, trying to listen to what these people are thinking inside their hearts.
