Fight

He knew that the moment his mask was removed, his plan had failed. Alone in Asgard, there was only one path left for him—death. But since the infiltration plan was now impossible, he had no choice but to resort to a frontal assault. Even if it cost him his life, at least he could draw some of Asgard's fire away from the approaching main force.

As the Dark Particle Core shattered inside him, the lieutenant's body was suddenly engulfed in flames that radiated an overwhelming aura of darkness. A shockwave mixed with black smoke erupted, instantly hurling the two Asgardian soldiers and Heimdall away.

Heimdall, as the guardian of the Bifrost, was on par with current Thor in strength, so he managed to hold his ground. But the two ordinary soldiers weren't as fortunate. The black smoke emanating from the lieutenant's body seeped into their exposed skin, draining their life force. They let out agonizing screams before turning into dried-up corpses.

When Heimdall struggled to his feet, the lieutenant, now fully transformed into a Cursed Warrior, was already closing in with a fist that grew larger in Heimdall's vision. The fist was coated with a substance that resembled molten lava, exuding a strong aura of death.

At the last possible moment, Heimdall quickly raised the Guardian Sword to shield his head, blocking the Cursed Warrior's punch.

Gritting his teeth, Heimdall's veins bulged as he held his ground against the Cursed Warrior, who was still adjusting to his newfound strength. The Cursed Warrior, preoccupied with overpowering Heimdall, didn't notice the rapid movement of Heimdall's lips as he muttered something under his breath.

Miles away, in the palace, Odin's face suddenly filled with shock as he abruptly stood up. Grabbing the Gugnir by his side, he shouted to the nearby guards, "Quick, activate the defensive barrier! Sound the Level One alarm. War is upon us!"

Ignoring the reactions of the guards, Odin raised the Gugnir high, and his ornate armor appeared on his body. In the next instant, he transformed into a flash of lightning and sped out of the palace, heading straight for the end of the Bifrost.

Meanwhile, in just a few seconds, the Cursed Warrior had nearly beaten Heimdall to death. Initially, their strength had been roughly equal, with Heimdall perhaps even having a slight edge. But courage fears recklessness, and recklessness fears those who have nothing to lose. The lieutenant had traded his life for this near-five-dimensional power, making it easy for him to overpower Heimdall.

The only reason Heimdall was still alive was due to the durability of the Guardian Sword, which had absorbed much of the Cursed Warrior's attacks. Otherwise, Heimdall would have been knocked out by the first punch, unable to even alert Odin.

But now, the Guardian Sword had been pushed to its limits, its blade bending under the force of the Cursed Warrior's heavy blows, as if it might snap at any moment. The Cursed Warrior raised his fist high and brought it down with tremendous force. The Guardian Sword, unable to withstand the pressure, shattered into two pieces.

The remaining force of the punch, partially absorbed by the Guardian Sword, landed on Heimdall's chest. With a dull thud, Heimdall's once dark complexion turned a sickly purplish-black, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood mixed with bits of his internal organs, splattering it onto the Cursed Warrior's face. This only made the mutated Cursed Warrior look more like a demon emerging from the depths of the abyss.

The Cursed Warrior, unfazed by the blood on his face, looked down at the battered Heimdall and sneered. He grabbed Heimdall by the throat with one hand, lifting him off the ground. The molten lava-like lines on his hand began to spread across Heimdall's body, cutting off his life force.

Just as the deathly lines on the Cursed Warrior's hand were about to reach Heimdall's neck, Odin finally arrived. In an instant, the thunderous force that Odin had transformed into forcibly separated the Cursed Warrior from Heimdall.

"He... Your Majesty, he..."

Heimdall, who had been thrown to the ground, struggled to get back on his feet. But the excruciating pain in his internal organs caused cold sweat to pour down his face, and he couldn't manage to stand up.

"I understand. Let me deal with this monster first," Odin replied, glancing back at Heimdall.

Hearing Odin's words, Heimdall finally relaxed and lay back down, closing his eyes as he used his divine power to protect his cracked internal organs, preventing his injuries from worsening. It was fortunate that he was an Asgardian; if he were human, he would have been dead long ago.

The Cursed Warrior, clutching his now pulverized right arm, stared at Odin with fierce eyes. In just a moment, Odin had severed the right arm of the Cursed Warrior, who had previously been overpowering Heimdall with ease.

This demonstrated that in the face of a true five-dimensional being, there was no real difference between half-step five-dimensional and four-dimensional beings—they were all like ants, easily crushed. The difference of even one level was as vast as the difference between heaven and earth.

Without extraordinary means like those Zane possessed, attempting to fight beyond one's level was nearly impossible. The Dark Particle Core of the Dark Elves could only overpower beings of the same tier. If it could allow them to fight beyond their level, the Dark Elves would be ruling the Nine Realms instead of Odin's family.

Without saying a word, Odin attacked the Cursed Warrior upon seeing his twisted, monstrous face. He knew that even if he asked questions now, he wouldn't get any useful information from this creature. According to the records left by the previous king, all Dark Elves were fanatical believers in darkness. Those who willingly sacrificed themselves to become Cursed Warriors were the most fanatical of all. Asking would be pointless!

Eliminating this monster quickly and preparing for a possible attack from the remaining Dark Elves was the top priority. As Odin poured his divine power into the Gugnir, its tip began to glow with a brilliant, multicolored light. In the next moment, a thick beam of energy shot out from the spear, instantly reducing the Cursed Warrior, who had no time to dodge, to ashes.

But just as Odin obliterated the Cursed Warrior, a small, fully cloaked ship silently appeared at the far end of the Bifrost. There was no sound, no distortion of light, and the Asgardian alarm system did not react in the slightest.

Even Odin, standing nearby, didn't notice it at all. This was a testament to the Dark Elves' extraordinary stealth technology. If not for the previous King Bor's decisive attack on the Dark Elves' homeworld via the Bifrost, the outcome of their conflict might have been very different.

In the original story, Heimdall was able to sense the presence of the Dark Elves' ship. But now, with his eyes closed, focusing on healing his wounds, he was oblivious. The only one in all of Asgard who noticed was Zane, who was sitting on a mountaintop with Lorna in his arms, enjoying the view. He suddenly turned his head toward the end of the Bifrost, a smile of excitement spreading across his face.

After all, the instincts granted by his A-rank skill, [Eternal Arms Mastery], were no joke. The moment the lieutenant had transformed into a Cursed Warrior, Zane had sensed his presence. Zane had then directed a portion of his focus to the other end of the Bifrost. Sure enough, the Dark Elves' ship had arrived shortly after the Cursed Warrior appeared.
