Olivia's POV

What is this witch trying to do? How can she say such things to Devon? Did she want him to begin to doubt me? I haven't even done anything to warrant this kind of-

"She's afraid of hospitals." I heard Devon said. "Somehow those things frighten her and it's perfectly normal."

Candice s face fell. For once, Alpha Devon has made me happy and I can't describe how even happier I feel seeing that Candice is pained.

"Well, I apologize for frightening you, Olivia." Candice said, bowing lightly at me. "I used to be afraid of hospitals too."

"I had to overcome my fear and now I work in a hospital."

Why was she saying this? Is she trying to impress Devon? I scoffed.

"Is there something funny, Olivia?" She asked, smiling condescendingly at me. I can readily tell that she sees me as someone way beneath her. If so, why did she bow to me? She wasn't forced or anything.
