After several experiences on her farm, she can tell whether the soil is healthy or malnourished based on this method alone. Seeing that it is a bit moist yet not so wet, not too soft and not too hard, as well as not too sandy, the soil fits the criteria of what Elaina qualifies as healthy soil.
