Chapter 39: "Scientific Revelation"

Chapter 39: "Scientific Revelation"

Ron strolled out of the partially demolished basement, observing the line of obedient slaves on their knees, patiently awaiting his return. His presence commanded respect, and even after restraining his powers, his aura was still awe-inspiring.

Dressed in sleek black attire, Ron's magnetic charisma had an unintended effect on Anna, who blushed upon his arrival.

"Prepare Bosain and Jayden to meet me in the Main Hall," Ron ordered, releasing his aura in their direction, ensuring they would obey.

In response, the slaves Garvin and Freed, scurried to fetch the two men, while Ron made his way to the Main Hall. His gaze fell upon a long wooden chair at the far end of the room, adorned with majestic roaring lion carvings.

Ron acknowledged Anna with a nod, and she bowed, her face flushed with excitement. This chair was a product of her efforts, made by skilled artisans, and her aim was to please Ron.

Settling into the chair, Ron closed his eyes, awaiting the arrival of Bosain and Jayden. His subtle aura extended throughout the Main Hall, causing everyone present to feel a heavy burden on their chests.

Soon, the four figures entered the hall, and Garvin and Freed retreated to join the other guards.

"What is the meaning of this, Leylin?" Jayden began, bewildered and outraged about the recent events.

Before Jayden could utter another word, Ron opened his eyes, unleashing a burst of spiritual force that slammed into Jayden's body. The pressure rendered him immobile, and he trembled.

Terrified, Jayden hastily bowed. "Please forgive my offense, Lord Magus."

Bosain, observing from the side, remained silent but perplexed. He grasped the concept that courtesy was paramount when interacting with an official Magus. However, the interaction contradicted what Leylin had previously told him.

"Bosain greets Magus Leylin," he cautiously offered a greeting, understanding the importance of respecting Ron's power and authority.

"Jayden greets Magus Leylin," Jayden said, his voice strained.

Ron released the pressure and kept silent, creating a tense atmosphere.

"Are you wondering where Shaya and Roth are?" Ron inquired, his words accompanied by an eerie hissing undertone. Both Bosain and Jayden nodded, their interest piqued.

"They are dead," Ron stated coldly, allowing the gravity of the situation to settle in. Bosain's eyes widened, and he was about to discuss the repercussions when Ron continued.

"They died protecting us," Ron added, bewildering the pair even more. "I received information indicating that the so-called 'inheritance' we were attending was a ruse."

"Later, I sent both Shaya and Roth with a group of my elite guards to investigate. And guess what..." Ron continued his story, and at this moment, Anna presented him with a glass of red wine.

"Mmm...exquisite wine, Anna," Ron remarked, taking another sip while subtly fondling her. Anna, with a blush, replied, "Thank you, Young Master."

The timing irked Bosain and Jayden, but they maintained their eager expressions. They couldn't help but be drawn into the tale.

"About Shaya and Roth," Ron continued, feeding their curiosity, "they discovered that the 'inheritance' was a scheme by a deranged Magus. He had lured Acolytes as specimens for his experiments, as kidnapping them directly was no longer feasible after the war. He used this elaborate facade to bait potential subjects."

The shocking revelation left Bosain and Jayden dumbfounded. Doubts remained in their minds, but gratitude and admiration for Ron began to outweigh them.

"I had to sacrifice my men and rush my own advancement to ensure our safety," Ron added, "I even used the 'Demon's Wail Flower' to increase our chances."

Bosain and Jayden felt deep gratitude and guilt. They had used the 'Demon's Wail Flower,' a herb with adverse effects on future development, to aid their own progress.

Unbeknownst to them, Ron had mastered a bewitching curse known as 'Parseltongue,' recorded and analyzed through the A.I. Chip. He used it to manipulate their mental states, leading to their voluntary submission.

"All of you, leave the room," Ron commanded his slaves, and they quickly departed.

Sighing, Ron shifted his tone, his eyes exuding tenderness. "I have endured significant losses, all for the safety of my two dear friends."

Bosain immediately kneeled before him, expressing his profound gratitude. Jayden followed suit, both willing to compensate Ron for his sacrifices.

Ron looked at them with a peculiar glint in his eyes. "What I want is..."
