Chapter Forty-Five

Arthur Dealia made himself busy with the preparations for the last-minute dinner with General Bludborne and his newly found partner. He was excited at the prospect of having some new blood in this dreary palace. It had been far too long since someone new came to court, and it was much needed. The nobility was starting to stagnate and decay in their routine. Perhaps this young woman would be the change that the court required. 

Arthur walked down the long hallway of the palace and into the grand dining room that was usually reserved for essential state dinners and delegations from other countries. He was the last to arrive, save for the guests of honor. When he entered the room, everyone in attendance stood to greet him. Looking over the crowd, he was pleased to see his sister, Princess Thalia, but equally disappointed that his brother was unable to attend. Stifling a sigh, he took his seat at the head of the long dining table.
