Once Epraim stabilized himself, he turned around to check if he tripped on something, but there was nothing there besides the slightly curved surface of the rock.
He brushed his hair backward and moved towards the stone wall instead. Then, he raised the lamp at the level of Edna's face.
His eyes fell on her lips first, but he hurriedly shifted it to her cap that was disarranged earlier.
It was covering her eyes, so he fixed it only to see her chilling blue eyes glaring at him.
'She's awake? I thought Vienne said that sedative even last long for large animals.'
He looked at her tied hands and feet before scanning her whole figure. Her body was like a soggy noodle barely keeping its upright form. However, her eyes remained strong.
He squatted down and kept the lamp in between them. Then he grabbed her chin before eyeing her lips. They were parted slightly, so he wasn't sure if she could respond to his questions now.
