Sonia looked at her reflection in his orbs. Then she glanced upwards. "There's a cut on your forehead," she said.
Epraim hurried to reshuffle his hair. "A fierce kitten scratched it," he said.
When the corners of his eye caught a lush green color on her left hand, he shifted his attention to it. "What a small cactus." He leaned in. "It's kinda cute."
"I'll grow big soon. Even bigger than you," Zach said his voice pouty.
Epraim stood straight. "Did you plant it?"
Sonia nodded.
Once they were nearly out of the covered path walk, Epraim opened the blue umbrella that had replaced the water bottle he always carries. "Why are you carrying it to the office?"
"I like seeing it."
"Yey, fairy likes seeing me," Zach said in a vibrant tone, so Sonia chuckled. Her face matched the radiance of the morning light, warming the hearts of those who saw it.
