96 Wishes

The waves ebb and flow, sea breezes skim the surface.

"What are you waiting for?" Shen Yue asked suddenly, turning to look at Li Yawei who had her eyes fixed on the sand.

"What?" Li Yawei asked, somewhat befuddled.

"If you know you need to speak your mind, you shouldn't still be sitting here." Shen Yue suggested.

Li Yawei understood what Shen Yue meant and shook her head with a stubborn air. She might be able to pour her heart out to Shen Yue, but she still couldn't bring herself to seek out her mother, unable to untangle the long-standing knot in her heart.

Shen Yue's gaze flickered, suddenly he said, "It's been a while since you've been back here, right?"

"Yeah." Li Yawei twirled her hair behind her ear, "Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"

"Have you heard of the Wishing Beach that's always been considered something of a magical place here? The legend goes that if you make a wish to the sea here, the sea god will help fulfill your heart's desire." Shen Yue explained.
