It's Not What You Think

They pulled their hands away from each other, a bright pink blush painted on their cheeks.

Azure walked closer to them, narrowing his eyes at Olivia. This Azure looked like nothing like her Azure. But the same way Olivia gave the same vibes as Oliver, this Azure was the same.

"So this is the girl, huh?" He muttered as he inspected Olivia from different angles.

Olivia was afraid that a confrontation between them would happen. Since her sister was the calm, non-confrontational type, she had the gist that this universe's Azure would be the opposite.

But then again, the JaNyx of both universes had the same personality despite their different genders, so Olivia might give the benefit of the doubt to this alternate universe's Azure that they might be the same case.

Instead of confronting Olivia, however, Azure shifted his attention to Oliver and started jamming his fingers against Oliver's chest, shouting.

"Don't you have any shame?!" His voice was shrill, as expected from a pre-pubescent boy. "You're bringing girls to 𝘰𝘶𝘳 house, the same house where Mom and I live?!"

"What's your point?" Oliver growled.

"How can you 𝘯𝘰𝘵 see my point?!" Azure continued reprimanding. "Okay, Oliver. Let me spell it out to you since you're as dumb as a rock: If you're planning to screw someone, at least bring them to a love hotel or whatever. Not 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦."

To say that Olivia was dumbstruck at what she heard was the greatest understatement of the century.

Isn't Azure just twelve years old?! How did he even know what a love hotel is? Did 𝘩𝘦𝘳 sister know what a love hotel is?

"And 𝘺𝘰𝘶."

Olivia blinked, realizing a little too late that Azure was referring to her. However, when he addressed Olivia, his tone was kinder and non-accusatory.

"I'm sorry, miss," Azure gave her an understanding look. "But you shouldn't be hanging out with boys like my brother here. Mark my words, he is just playing with you--"

"'𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺, 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴,'" Oliver repeatedly mockingly. "Why are you being polite with other people but can't spare me a bit of it to your brother?! Also, it's not what you think."

Olivia nodded in agreement with Oliver when he continued.

"You think I would actually f*ck someone who's way below my league?!"

Olivia glared at him. "You're horrible, you know that."

"T-t-that's a rude thing to say in front of a lady, Oliver." Azure stammered.

"Since you're stuttering, I know you agree with me!"

Azure uneasily looked at Olivia from head to toe, not quite adept at hiding the judgmental glint his eyes had.

"I-I-I do not!" He stammered again. "I mean, she looks quite plain compared to the others--"

"Hey!" Olivia pouted her lips.

"--But she seems like a nice girl!" Azure sounded like he didn't believe his own words.

Olivia rubbed her temples in annoyance.

"Anyway," Oliver waved his hand dismissively. "It's not what you think."

"You always say that," Azure let out a sigh. "But this is the first time I've heard you say those words without catching you mid and post-screwing, so you might not be lying this time."

"Let me finish--" Oliver tried but Olivia buried her face in her hands.

"Please stop repeating the word, 'screw.'" Olivia pleaded.

"Oh, I apologize, miss," He bowed in apology. Olivia couldn't help but note his impeccable manners. "I haven't gotten your name yet, have I?"

"I'm Olivia," She gave her hand out.

Since he was Oliver's brother (and not her sister), she half-expected Azure to look at her hand in disgust. But Azure shook her hand without a second thought, smiling genuinely at her.

"Nice to meet you, Olivia..." Azure waited for her to give her last name, but Oliver interjected.

"She goes only by her first name."

"Like Beyonce?" Azure raised an eyebrow.

Olivia nodded determinedly.

"Well, then." He firmly gave her a handshake. "I'm Azure Twyne. It's nice to meet you."

Once they were done shaking hands, Olivia felt an intense fondness for this version of Azure. He was a nice, polite kid.

At first, she expected the worst from him because of how much Oliver talked badly of his brother. But it seemed like her apprehension toward him was unneeded.

Even if he called her 'plain'.

"Can I speak now?" Oliver grumbled.

Azure gestured for him to continue. So he did.

"She'll be staying here for a while."

"What?!" Azure exclaimed. "Did you get her pregnant?!"

Olivia and Oliver shouted, "No!" at the same time.

"Where the f*ck did you get that?!" Oliver scoffed. "No, she's just..."

"Homeless," Olivia supplied for him.

"Yeah, homeless!" Oliver nodded.

Azure raised an eyebrow at them. "Why are you guys acting weird? That's not the case, is it?"

"It is!" They both insisted at the same time.

Azure narrowed his eyes in disbelief but asked anyway.

"For how long?"

Olivia looked at Oliver pleadingly, while Oliver could only shrug in reply.

"Until she gives birth, got it." Azure nodded.

"I'm not pregnant!" Olivia exclaimed, a hint of frustration evident in her tone.

"If you're not pregnant, why is Oliver letting you stay here?" Azure queried.

"Because we literally have thirty-five guest rooms?" Oliver asked back as if this was supposed to be obvious.

"Are things between you and Olivia this serious?" He frowned. "You invited girls over every other day, but you've never let a girl live with us before."

"I told you," Oliver said through gritted teeth. "It's not what you think it is."

"Of course, it isn't," Azure spoke in a tone as if he didn't really believe them but was merely playing along.

"But you don't need to worry," Olivia interjected. "I won't stay here for free if that's what you're worried about?"

Oliver knitted his eyebrows together. "You aren't?"

"Of course, I won't!" Olivia declared with a determined assurance in her voice. "I'll help with the household chores!"

Oliver cleared his throat. "I don't know if you've noticed, but we have hundreds of maids here."

"Then I'll cook!"

"We have chefs," Azure chimed.

"Oh, believe me," Olivia grinned proudly. "My cooking skills are better than a chef's!"

Oliver rolled his eyes.

"I doubt your cooking skills are better than our chefs who worked in top restaurants nationwide, but go off."

"I would love to try your cooking!" Azure spoke excitedly.

"Really?!" Both Olives exclaimed at the same time. The other spoke in relief while the other spoke in disbelief.

"I've always wanted to try home-cooked meals!" Azure smiled timidly. "I've never had one before..."

Before Olivia even noticed it, she started ruffling Azure's hair.

"No worries, Azure!" She spoke with confidence. "You'll taste the best-- Oh, sorry."

Olivia pulled her hand away, but Azure grabbed it.

"No..." He spoke in such a small voice it was endearing. "Don't stop, please."

So she didn't.

"What's your favorite food?" Olivia asked, leaning closer down to him. Since they were barely the same height, this was an easy feat.

"R-r-rice porridge..." He shyly answered while his cheeks were flushed red.

"Isn't that what sick people eat?" Oliver scowled. Olivia took note that this was the default expression that Oliver had.

"You got it!" Olivia chuckled. "One rice porridge, coming right up!"
