Drake walked into the class. Just like first-class, his entrance attracted multiple gazes.
He ignored them and spotted an empty seat in the 7th-row middle section.
Not wasting any time, he took that spot and sat there. After a quick look around, he spotted a few interesting things.
The biggest of them were Sam and Chris sitting in the second row.
Kane said, [Looks like Jenny stopped roping them.]
He turned toward the second hot topic of the class. A dwarf boy with thick brown hair was sitting at the core of the right side. He could sense a tension among the dwarfs around Udo.
Anyone sitting close to Udo was grinning, while those on the edge had red eyes. At least 80 percent of the Dwarfs were already worshiping Udo.
He asked in confusion, < What's going on there? Why are those guys acting like that?>
[I think is because he is from the Amon family.]
<Really? Is the Amon family that much popular among Dwarfs? I mean, don't see any human going crazy for Duisburg.>
[ahhh I am not sure but I think Amons are best in weapon making. So maybe that is why…]
This opened his mind, and he realized that all the seat-holders might be the same in power, but there was a difference in their reputation.
The Duisberg ruled on fear while Amons, on the other hand, cherished by others. <Sigh there is such a tremendous difference in both families.>
[True, but forget about these things. Better focus on this class first. Mana art is the most important thing, and this class is going to long one.]
<I know.> He cleared his head and just placed his head down while waiting for the class to start.
There were many like him who chose not to talk much while patiently waiting for class to start. Few of them were even discussing what they could learn in this class.
Time continued to pass, and suddenly, a loud sound attracted everyone's attention.
Drake moved his head to look when a heat wave passed over him. It was so hot at that moment that he felt his skin might melt. Thankfully, it was just a single wave.
He focused on the stage, and his jaw dropped just like others to see the stage engulfed in the bright yellow fire.
Ahhhhh fire.
A girl from the front seat screamed. This woke others, and everyone in the front got up trying to move back when they heard a loud clap.
"Oops, no need to be afraid," with the sound the fire started swirling and formed the shape of a man. Drake saw two hands coming out of the glob of fire and clicked.
The next moment, all the fire disappeared, and a beautiful elven man appeared on the stage with a red long coat on. He was frowning while looking around the stage, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.
None of the students dared to move. They quickly sat on their chairs while most of them grabbed their seats, preparing themselves for things to come.
The eleven instructors finally looked at them and said with a smile, "Oh hello there. I am Trevor Lindir. The mana art instructor of class 1. I am going to take both the 'Use of Mana Arts' and 'Theory of Mana Arts' classes each week."
Kane said at this time, [Dude make sure to not mess with this guy.]
He looked at the black corners of the podium and gulped down, not even daring to nod his head.
Everyone around him was on edge and while they strengthened their grips.
Sir Trevor laughed at this. "Haha, no need to be so tense. I don't plan to test anyone here. Better focus on me than on your seat."
Many had red faces. Though hesitant, they did lose the grip but knew not to trust that laughing face.
Sir Trevor said, "Before I start, let me tell you. There will be no class on Friday. Instead, I will teach you double time today."
Kane's voice came, [Well, there's no change here. It going the same way.]
He ignored Kane and said in unison, "OK, sir." None of the surrounding students seem to have any problem with it. Well, he really wanted to learn fast, so it was better for him.
Sir Trevor started, "First you have to know what mana art means. In simple terms, any action you perform that uses your element mana is mana art. For example,"
Sir started moving his hand up and down in the air. "look at my hand. Now this is a simple action. All of you can do it, right?"
Everyone nodded, "Yes sir." Few even moved this hand like sir.
"focus on my hand." There was no change in hand movement, but it started glowing. Sir looked at them and asked, "Can you guys do this?"
Students shook their heads.
"Or this." The hand stopped glowing, but now whenever the hand reached a peak point, a flame moved up in the air from the back of the hand and at the lowest point, the flame moved down from the palm.
Everyone again shook their heads.
Sir Trevor stopped his hand and asked, "So, what did I do just now?"
One girl from the left said, "Sir, you use mana to make flames of your hand and make your hand glow."
Sir nodded and said, "Both of my actions consume my mana. Just one clarification, every time I say mana, that means element mana or element energy, not pure mana okk."
"Yes, sir."
"Now if you go by definition, then both of my simple actions are a type of mana art."
"Whoa," Many had their eyes wide open. Even Drake found it hard to believe that such a simple thing was also mana art.
Sir Trevor smiled at them, "Well congratulations, you guys learned the mana art."
Everyone just stared at Sir Trevor with poker faces, not knowing how to respond.
One guy from the middle asked what was in everyone's mind, "Sir, what star mana art are those?"
"Zero stars."
"ah, what is zero star, sir? Is there anything below 1 star mana art?"
Instructor Trevor shook his head. "nope. The thing is what I did is directly consume mana without thinking much about how. It is an inefficient and unstable way that may injure me if I were on your level. So what I show you is a defective mana art."
Everyone nodded in realization.
"Well, we took a step and added a factor. Now we will not blindly use our mana, but find an efficient way so that mana art does not fail and give the desired result. That is our balanced mana art. "
A girl asked, "Sir, how do we know if the art is stable or not?"
Sir nodded, "Good question, but the simple answer is as long as the mana arts have stars next to it, doesn't matter the number of stars, it is stable."
