Final Test (I)

"Raiton: Bunshin no Jutsu!" I voiced after I weaved through the hand signs. I felt my Chakra being channeled through my body, but it fell apart just after it came out of my hands, so nothing happened. Not that I was expecting anything to happen since I wasn't able to completely transform the Nature of my Chakra.

The Lightning Clone Technique also used the same principle and hand signs as the Clone Technique, but due to the application of Elemental Chakra, instead of using normal Chakra, giving us quite different results in return… While it wasn't easy for me to transform the nature of my Chakra while casting a Jutsu, at the same time, it wasn't extremely difficult. I simply needed more practice to become adept at it.

Dropping the matter for the time being, I decided to move on and try the next Jutsu. Once again, I wasn't expecting any results, after all, this was the first time I was going to attempt this Jutsu, but I can only learn through practice…

Anyone in my shoes would have felt the same too, but this was neither the time nor the place to celebrate since I knew I was probably being watched.

It was already pretty late, so I finally decided to call this a day as I had to attend classes tomorrow…

"What do you think?" Kanpeki asked as he glanced at his superior from the corner of his eyes.

"...I have to admit, he is quite talented. From the rest of his report, he didn't seem to be anything special… He might have been best in Taijutsu and Shurikenjutsu within his batch, but it needs a lot more to be exceptional" M answered as he took another glance at the file in his hands.

"So, what do you think? Do you think he is good enough for the special course?" Kanpeki asked and M simply shook his head.

"No, not yet… A lot of kids show talent like him when they are young. I will admit, I have never seen anyone pick up Lightning Jutsus as fast as him, he is only learning D Rank Jutsus for the time being and we already have our hands full with all the kids with Storm Release. Pay attention to them for the time being" M answered flatly.

While Kanpeki didn't agree with M, he decided to follow his superior's instructions.

"With the war picking up, we won't be able to spare anyone from the active roster and we need to nurture the kids with Storm Release" M voiced when he noticed the look on Kanpeki's face. He knew what Kanpeki was thinking, but the truth of the matter was, it was simply better to nurture kids with Storm Release since not only did they have a Kekkei Genkai, but they could still use Lightning and Water Jutsus.

No matter how well the boy trained, he could never learn Storm Release and even if he put in extreme effort to learn Water Jutsus, he would never manage to become exceptional when it came to Water Techniques…

Two years ago, Zumo also left our group when he was invited to the special courses. Apparently, having Storm Release was a direct ticket into the special courses. I was the best within my batch when it came to Ninjutsu, but still, I wasn't admitted to the special courses. Sucks to be someone who doesn't have Storm Release, I guess…
