The Skrill? (2)

It had been a few hours since the battle atop the cliff and the Sun began rising. Eugene sat in a cave by a fire, the Skrill snarling at him as he lay against the wall.

"You really are an amazing dragon, you know that?" He said, staring at the Skrill a few feet beside him.

The dragon made a low growl and looked away from him. Sighing, Eugene achingly got up, looking out of the cave the rain still fell heavily. Looking back at the dragon he moved to get close, before crouching next to it.

"Oi, I'm going to get some medicine for you, but only if you promise not to attack me. Plus I don't think your injuries are any worse than mine." He stated, looking the Skrill in the eyes.

After a short pause, the dragon snarled, a puff of smoke coming out its nose before it growled in agreement.

"Good. Now stay here, and try not to move or else your wounds will only get worse. I'll come back tomorrow with some fish for you, how about it?"

With a low grumble, the Skrill laid back down before Eugene left the cave as he slinked off back to the village.

[Somewhere in the middle of the ocean]

"I can almost smell them. They're close." Stoick declared, pounding his fist down on a map.

He and the other Vikings sailed out into the sea, hoping to find the dragon's nest and destroy it for good. It had been a few days since they left Berk and Stoick felt they were nearing their target. As they continued their voyage, they sailed toward a huge shrouded of thick fog, its mysteries concealed from their eyes.

"Take us in." Stoick ordered one of his men.

Slowly entering, the boats faded into the thick fog as the silhouette of a dragon appeared, roaring as it flapped its wings.

[Berk Arena]

"You know, I just happened to notice that the Book of Dragons had almost zero information about Night Furies. Are there other books or knowledge vaults? Maybe a little Night Fury booklet?" Hicca questioned Gobber as a Deadly Nadder fired spikes at her.

"Focus Hicca! You're not even trying!" He shouted from the arena stands as Hicca ran from the dragon. "Today is all about attack! Nadders are quick and light on their feet! Your job is to be quicker and lighter!" 

The dragon leaped atop the makeshift maze, spotting Fishlegs before shooting its spines from its tails at him.

"Aaaaah! I'm really beginning to question your teaching methods Gobber!" He shouted as he put his shield up to protect him from being impaled.

"You have been questioning it already?!" Eugene screamed as he dodged a blast from the dragon.

"Look for its blind spot. Every dragon has one. Find it, hide in it, and strike!" Gobber yelled.

As they ran around Ruffnut and Tuffnut turned a corner before being spotted by the Deadly Nadder.

"Ugh! Do you ever bathe?" Ruffnut gagged as she inhaled the horrible stench from her brother.

"If you don't like it, then just get your own blind spot!"

"How about I give you a blind spot?!" 

They began arguing right as the Nadder shot a stream of white flames at them.

"Blind spot, yes. Deaf spot? Mmm, not so much." Gobber said laughing, as they ran from the dragon.

As Hicca and the others began to move, she stopped before spinning to look up at Gobber. "Hey, so how does one sneak up on a Night Fury?"

"No one's ever met one and lived long enough to tell the tale," He told her, snapping his fingers, "NOW GET IN THERE!"

"I know, I know, but hypothetically-" She tried squeezing out more info before Astrid shouted at her in a whisper telling her to crouch down. 

The Nadder stalked around the maze, looking for teens as they hid behind a wall. As the dragon looked away, it gave them the chance to roll to another wall in front of them followed by Hicca who failed due to her awkward roll. 

Hearing the clank of a shield hit the ground the dragon rushed toward Hicca before a foot planted itself on the side of its face, kicking it away.

"Go, go, go!" Eugene yelled as he landed, helping Hicca up before running around some corners.

As the dragon chased the teens it jumped in front of them forcing them all to stop in front of it. Astrid, about to attack the dragon, was pushed out of the way by Snotlout as he readied his hammer.

"Watch out babe, I've got this." Snotlout then threw his hammer and missed completely, hitting the wall next to the dragon.

"Nice shot dimwit." She said as she ran from the dragon that was now hot on their tails.

"The Sun was in my eyes, Astrid! What do you want me to do, block out the Sun? I could do that, but I don't have time right now!"

The dragon continued to pursue the group as they split off in different directions. The Nadder began chasing Astrid as she made quick turns, causing it to slip, sending it crashing into the wooden walls causing them to fall like dominos.

As this is going on Hicca went back to questioning Gobber about Night Furies as Eugene stood guard around her.

"They probably take the daytime off. You know, like a cat. Has anyone ever seen one napping?"

"Hicca!" Gobber shouts at her as the walls start toppling toward Her and Eugene.

Astrid, somehow managing to get on the walls, begins leaping from wall to wall, as the Nadder was close behind her. As Astrid jumps off the last collapsing wall, Eugene pushes Hicca out of the way before jumping out of the way.

"Ugh, that hurts... so much." He groaned holding his bandaged sides.

As the Nadder removed itself from the debris, it began to run toward the young Viking. Seeing this Astrid quickly gets up before yanking her axe off the ground and swinging it at the dragon, bashing the flat side in its face and sending it staggering away.

"Well done, Astrid." Gobber commends her.

Astrid breathed out heavily before angrily turning to Hicca and shouting at her. "Is this some kind of a joke to you?! Our parents' war is about to become ours! Figure out which side you're on."

As everyone begins to leave, Hicca is left standing as Eugene lies beside her on the ground. "Oh yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for worrying."

"Glad you're ok. C'mon, we have a Night Fury to tame." Before she could leave Eugene stopped her as he picked himself up off the ground.

"I have something else to do. I'll stop by later though. Oh and make sure you at least bring some protection for yourself." He told her as he ran off.
