It Wasn't You

Demyan

My body jolted awake as I heard a loud knocking from somewhere in our suite. A blistering headache made me groan as I pressed my hand to my forehead. Ethan, whose body was tangled in mine, pushed his face deeper into his pillow refusing to go and check what was going on.

"Yes, just send your pregnant husband to go check which mad man wants to break down our door," I hissed as I climbed off the bed as naked as the day I was born.

"My pregnant husband knows how to knock someone out with one punch. I have all the faith in the world," he gave me a lazy grin before he snuggled back under the sheets.

I gave him a baffled look as I grabbed the nearest fluffy robe close to me, covered my body with it then tightly pulled the waist together as I headed to the entrance door. The knocking persisted and at that point I was worried they might truly break down the door.
