Life Is like An Onion

"Stay hidden, in case things turn sour," I advised.

Thorne often says life is like an onion, but his interpretation doesn't resonate with me. He talks about peeling layers to reach an empty core. I see it differently. To me, an onion represents life's potential to spoil, either from the inside or the outside. Sometimes it looks good but is rotten at the core. Other times, you can cut out a bad spot and the rest is fine.

Pardus lords think they're skilled at cutting out the bad parts, but they often can't distinguish good from bad. Dragonlords are quick to discard the whole onion at the sight of a single bad spot. Falcon lords, they'll let you cook and eat the onion, only to tell you it was bad when you complain.
