Chapter XXVI: Brother

The students and Tenten made it to the trackers' location and observed the warehouse. Momo said, "The tracker points here."

Mina asked, "Really? It just looks like an abandoned warehouse."

Midoriya replied, "They'd probably do that on purpose. It's more conspicuous."

Tokoyami turned around and saw a couple of drunk people approaching, "We should go into the darkness of the alley to avoid people seeing us."

"Good idea."

Everyone ran to the side of the building and hid near the wall. Momo said, "I've been checking the tracker all day, and no villains have moved at all."

Tenten asked, "Who was the tracker put on?"

Todoroki answered, "A Nomu."

"Ah, well those things don't move without orders. Everything should be fine. Keep in mind though, that this may just be a storage facility for the Nomu as opposed to their actual hideout."

Midoriya tried to reach up to the high window, but Iida held him back, "Wait, Midoriya! Let Silver Tornado check first. She's the only one here likely experienced in stealth."

Tenten pulled a ladder out of a scroll, "Did the ninja look give it away?" She climbed up the ladder and squinted her eyes, "It's too dark. None of you happen to have night vision equipment, do you?"

Kirishima hastily fished out a camera from his jacket pocket, "I have something right here."

Midoriya exclaimed, "Wow! Those are really expensive, you must have spent at least 50K yen on that."

"Forget the price, I thought it would come in handy for this." He tossed up the camera and Tenten caught it.

'They're pretty well prepared. I had goggles of my own, just wanted to test them. And they passed.' She looked through the camera and observed the room, her gaze landed on some monsters in tanks. 'As I thought, Nomu storage facility.'

Not far away, a large number of heroes and police were ready to begin the operation. Best Jeanist hung around next to Edgeshot, "I hoped to reform Bakugo's behavior by inviting him to my agency, but never have I ever come across such a headstrong individual. I'm not sure about your student, but we gotta get there fast before Bakugo tries any wild, drastic action."

Edgeshot sighed, "Sasuke isn't much better. I had to have Tenten supervise him as much as possible to make sure he didn't try anything, and he still snuck out and got himself in a bad spot."

Gang Orca said, "So neither of you could change your students?"

Best Jeanist face palmed, "The very roots of his hair were filled with that unshakeable pride."

"He's as stubborn as the bones of his quirk." Edgeshot also facepalmed.

"One thing can't be denied though." Both Edgeshot and Best Jeanist looked up.

Edgeshot stated, "When it comes to resilience and not giving up, they can't be beaten."

"They'll hold out until we get there."

Bakugo reached out to Sasuke as his hands glowed in a familiar pose; Sasuke closed his eyes, and Bakugo let off a bright flash that stunned everyone in the room. "Stun grenade!" He grabbed the belt on Sasuke and blew it up.

In an instant, Sasuke's eyes spun red and he manifested a huge fist to punch Shigaraki into a wall. He made magatama beads and shot them at the bar. He attempted to grab the rest of them, but the effects of the flash faded and they jumped away. Sasuke and Bakugo stood side by side and were ready for anything. Shigaraki groaned as he stood up and Bakugo said, "You're right about me wanting to beat this bastard Sasuke, but I'm gonna do it when he's at his best. Only a backhanded loser like you would be satisfied with beating on someone tied to a chair."

Shigaraki glared, "Such petty ideals are meaningless in the grand scheme of this hero society. You have to understand that only us and our master"—

"Yap yap yap shut the fuck up already! I'm not joining no matter what!"

Sasuke asked, "Wait, did you say you have a master? Who?"

"My master is"—

"— Cares?" Sasuke and Bakugo smirked and Bakugo flipped him off.

Toga tried to hide a giggle and Twice said, "No one's laughing kid. HAHAHAHA!"

Shigaraki growled and Sasuke continued, "Keep seething, Bakugo isn't joining you, and you aren't killing me, idiot." Sasuke's eyes darted through everyone in the room, 'How much time can I stall before we have to fight? I'd like to at least take out Kurogiri if anything. Am I hearing footsteps outside?'

Shigaraki's hands twitched and Kurogiri said, "Shigaraki, you have to remain calm, remember our mission."

Shigaraki took a deep breath and relaxed his hands, "Compress, Kurogiri. Let's put them to sleep again. Bakugo will come around eventually."

Someone knocked on the door leading outside, "Hello, Kamino pizza delivery." All Might smashed through the brick wall, sending the villains reeling back.

Spinner shouted, "What the?"

Shigaraki ordered, "Kurogiri! Warp us!"

Kamui Woods swung into the room and bound everyone in his branches. Flames rose out of Dabi, "Like that could—"

"—Not so fast! Take it easy." Gran Torino kicked his head, knocking him out.

Bakugo and Sasuke relaxed. All Might said, "There's no escape for you villains. Why? Because we are here!"

The two students relaxed and Edgeshot slipped through the door, "One must never neglect defense, especially when attacking. Kamino pizza is more than just those of us here." He opened the door, letting the police in. "Endeavor is out there, along with other skipped heroes and the police. You're surrounded."

All Might turned to Bakugo, "It must have been scary, good job holding out."

Bakugo's lips quivered and he straightened up, "It wasn't that bad."

Edgeshot's eyes averted to Sasuke and he strolled over to him, "Sasuke, how are you holding up?"

"Good..." Sasuke rubbed the back of his head, "It's been a couple of months, but... I never got the chance to say... well sorry for my blunder back when I was at your agency."

Edgeshot put a hand on his shoulder, "It's alright. I did the same thing when I was your age... well minus the month-long coma part."

Sasuke blinked, "Wait what?"

Over on the other side of the room, Shigaraki screamed, "Kurogiri! Bring them all over to play!"

The room became dead silent, and Kurogiri broke it, "I'm sorry Tomura Shigaraki, but... the Nomu set aside for us... They're gone!"

All Might stated, "Looks like you still have a lot to learn, Shigaraki. Your little league has gone and taken some things too lightly. Like these boy's indomitable spirits, and the relentless police investigation. As well as, our rage! Your mischief has gone on long enough, it all ends here, Tomura Shigaraki!" Despite his smile, All Might oozed intimidation.

Edgeshot said, "I can talk to you about it later. Looks like things are gonna get hectic again."

After another yapathon from Shigaraki, he called out to Kurogiri again, but Edgeshot pierced through him.

The villain with big lips exclaimed, "Huh! Scary, I couldn't even see what went through him. Is he dead?"

"Nah, just unconscious. I fiddled around with his insides. He was the biggest threat, so he's gonna take a nap now."

Gran Torino stated, "Like I said earlier, it's better if you all take it easy. Kenji Hikiishi, Atsuhiro Soka, Shuichi Iguchi, Himiko Toga, and Jin Bubaigawara, working with little Intel and even less time, the police burned the midnight oil to figure out your identities. Get it? There's nowhere left to run, so tell me, Shigaraki, where is your boss?"

Sasuke's eyes narrowed, 'All For One.'

Shigaraki fell silent for a minute as all eyes fell on him, "You gotta be kidding me... this can't... defeated just like that? No way... Get out of here and go to hell!"

All Might yelled, "Where is he, Shigaraki?!

"I HATE YOU!" Black splashes of water manifested in the air and Nomu came out of them.

Everyone braced themselves and looked back and forth. Gran Torino asked, "Edgeshot, did Kurogiri..."

"It's not him!"

Sasuke and Bakugo's mouths filled with the same black liquid. All Might noticed and tried to grab them, but they disappeared right in his arms. "NOOOOOO!"

A couple of minutes earlier, the heroes arrived at the factory and Tenten said, "Well since the rest of the pros are here now everything should be safe. I should—"

She froze as she heard huge footsteps and she whispered, "Stay behind the wall."

The students complied and a dark imposing figure entered the factory, shaded by darkness, "Sorry Tiger, but I've had my eye on her quirk for quite a while now. It was just too good, I had to have it."

Mina whispered, "Is that... AFO?"

"... Yes."

The rest of the students tensed up and the pros turned to the voice, "Not another step. Is he with the league?"

Tiger asked, "Can someone get a light over there?"

"Ever since I was reduced to this, I haven't been able to stock up as many as before."

His foot stepped out of the shadows and Best Jeanist binded him in an instant. Mt. Lady exclaimed, "Jeanist, what if he's just a civilian?"

"Use your head, a moment of hesitation could lead to them turning the tables on us, we can't let them pull any—"

In an instant, the factory disappeared and all that was left was rubble and defeated heroes. It was as if a meteor crashed into the factory.

All the students and Tenten sweated. The felt the air around them get thick and Midoriya thought, 'Before we could even look, it all ended in an instant just like that?'

Mina's eyes went wide, 'That's the guy Sasuke wants to kill? There's just no way any of us could ever beat this guy!'

Best Jeanist was the only one still conscious, but AFO quickly blasted him in the stomach, knocking him out. Tenten gripped the rubble and sweated, 'Should I go out there too? No, I wouldn't be able to do anything. I just have to make sure these students stay safe.' She turned to them and saw how overwhelmed they were. She took a deep breath, "Try to stay calm everyone, he doesn't see us."

Bakugo appeared in front of AFO, "Apologies, Bakugo."

Sasuke and the League of Villains appeared out of portals, and Sasuke made eye contact with AFO. His face contorted into a glare and gritted teeth and his eyes beamed red. "All For One! I've been training for the past 6 years since I've seen you, and now... it's time that I'll kill you!"

Ignoring the broken ribs in his body, he entered his savitar mode and rushed toward AFO with killing intent. AFO chuckled and blocked his Susanoo fist with one hand. "Sasuke Uchiha, this is quite nostalgic. I've been wanting to meet you."

Sasuke tried to land a flurry of kicks and punches, but all were blocked with ease. "I've never understood why you took their deaths so seriously, it's their own faults if anything. In fact, I freed you from them."

Sasuke grinded his teeth and it was as if his eyes became even more red. "DON'T TALK ABOUT MY PARENTS THAT WAY YOU PIECE OF SHIT! YOU KILLED THEM IN COLD BLOOD! THEY DID NOTHING WRONG!"

Midoriya peeked over the wall at Sasuke, 'He's over there fighting, and I can't even move... What's wrong with me? Maybe with full cowling, I could help somehow? I gotta tell them we gotta get away!' He took a deep breath and tried to move. But Iida put his hand on his chest. They made strong eye contact and Midoriya slid down the wall to his behind.

Mina peeked over the wall and clenched her fist, 'Stop being stupid, Sasuke! Ugh, if only he would use his other quirk to help them get away.'

Bakugo stood around staring back and forth, 'Damn it, Sasuke! Now I gotta deal with the league myself, they haven't tried anything yet though.'

AFO's expression was unreadable, "Nothing wrong? So naive, Sasuke. You were a child, so you must not know all the details. Let me tell you the truth of the matter. Your parents were extremely selfish."

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Sasuke went into his Armored Susanoo form and shot multiple magatama beads, but AFO sidestepped most of them and slapped away the last one.

"Sasuke, your parents worked you to the bone to the point you were sick. They didn't care about your well-being, you were birthed with the sole purpose of becoming a pro to make them money. Why else would they go as far as letting a shady organization grant their child a quirk?"

Sasuke winced, but tried to punch AFO again. He blocked the fist and punched the Susanoo, blowing it up. "Let's be honest with ourselves Sasuke, what loving parents would train their child to be a fighter from as young as five? Didn't you nearly die from a fever when you started out training?"

Sasuke looked down, 'Could he be... no. No, manipulating is what he does.' Blood leaked from Sasuke's mouth as his rib stabbed something. He put his hand over where the pain was and covered the rib with purple energy to suppress the pain. "... That's not related. I'm not gonna listen to your bullshit, everything you say is lies, and I'm gonna kill you right here, and right now!"

Sasuke manifested a blade and threw shuriken at him. AFO swiped his hand, causing the shuriken to disperse. Sasuke followed up with a smoke bomb and went for AFO's throat in the fog, but he caught the blade with his hand, "So ungrateful Sasuke, I saved you if anything. You might have ended up like your older brother had I not killed them." Sasuke's eyes went wide and he froze.

"Older... brother?"

AFO grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up off the ground. "Oh? They never told you, did they? How could you continue to seek vengeance for such horrible parents who would do what they did to you?"

Sasuke gritted his teeth as his mind raced through his memories of his parents. 'This... lying, backstabbing, manipulating bastard... He's...'

AFO chuckled, "Well, none of that matters now. You killing me is something that simply isn't possible. I could have killed you the first time you attacked me if I wanted to, do you know why I didn't? It's because of your quirk, it's the only part of you I'm interested in anymore. While I'm at it, I might as well take back my other quirk from you since you don't appreciate it."

AFO's hand reached towards Sasuke's forehead and Sasuke regained his focus and started struggling and shaking endlessly. "Stay away! No!"

Kirishima clenched his fist, "We gotta do something! We can't let him lose his quirk!"

Tenten stood up and prepared scrolls, "I don't intend on it, I'm gonna have to interfere... Thought that he was in the same boat as Bakugo but I guess not."

Sasuke thought, 'No... if I lose my quirk it's all over. No matter what, I can't let that happen! I... I have to...' Sasuke's left eye turned from red into a lilac color as multiple rings and tomoe decorated it.

AFO suddenly threw Sasuke to the side and was forced to block All Might's incoming blow. "I knew you'd come."

"You're gonna give it all back, AFO!"

"Come to kill me again, All Might? Would you be so kind as to wait until I take the boy's quirks?"

The ground under them succumbed to the pressure of their struggle as their arms shook as they tried to push one another. "You're going senile if you think I'd ever let you do that!"

As they continued to clash Sasuke laid on the ground in a daze. 'I couldn't even scratch him.' He clenched his fist and hit the ground with clenched teeth, 'He blew up my strongest form in one punch!' He clenched his eyes and dragged his fingers through the dirt as he was on all fours.

Bakugo stared down at him with wide eyes and the students behind the rubble stared between All Might and Sasuke.

AFO blew All Might away and turned to Shigaraki, "You need to flee, Tomura. Take the boys with you. Kurogiri will help you escape." He extended long futuristic-looking fingernails into Kurogiri's chest, forcing his quirk to activate a portal."

Magne asked, "Hey, the poor guy is unconscious. Couldn't you use your warp ability again?"

"It's incomplete and can only go very short distances, unlike Kurogiri's which can go to specific coordinates. The destination has to be a specific person I'm well acquainted with. Now go."

The portal opened and Shigaraki asked, "And you master?"

All Might came down from the sky, causing a huge crater as he dashed toward AFO again. "You won't get away!"

AFO turned to him, "Always think ahead, Tomura. You still have much room to grow." Their clash caused a huge gust of wind and dirt that made everyone close their eyes.

Bakugo saw the League's attention turn to him and Sasuke, "Damn it." He turned back to Sasuke who was still on the ground.

Sasuke's face tensed, 'Damn it all! He almost made me use that quirk... just like that... and I have a brother?! What the hell is going on... Mom... Dad...'

Mina clenched her heart and turned to the students, 'If only I could go over there and slap him. You'll be ok just fight back!' "We have to help them!"

Midoriya gulped, "I have an idea."

The League ran towards Bakugo and he let off a big blast to keep them away. He looked down at Sasuke and gritted his teeth. He grabbed him by his collar and lifted him up to look him in the eyes, "What the fuck do you think you're doing, retard? Huh? You lost one battle and you've lost your will to fight? Who cares about all the bullshit he says? He fucked up your childhood by killing your parents, it's as simple as that! So just keep training then murder his ass! I'm not going down cause you got depressed mid-battle. Now stand your ass up and help me kick their asses!"

Bakugo let him go and Sasuke took a deep breath. He slapped himself and found the strength to stand back up, "Yeah. You're right, my bad. Thanks for reminding me…" at

"Don't start getting sentimental now, save it for later." They both stood side by side again and covered each other's blind spots while evading the league. Bakugo kept them back with explosions, and if someone tried to sneak up behind them, Sasuke made them back off with a Susanoo fist.

Behind the rubble, Midoriya brainstormed, "Kirishima, you'll be the key to getting Kaachan out. They're both focusing on evading right now which works in our favor. We gotta move when they're a few steps away from them. First, we use my full cowling and Iida's recipro burst to get us moving, then Kirishima's hardening will help us get through the wall. The second we break through, Todoroki will have to make a big ramp for us we can fly off of. Then while we're flying high above the villains, it's up to you to get Kaachan, Kirishima. You'll have to call out to him as a friend!"

Momo asked, "What about Sasuke? I don't think he can fly up that high with his quirk, unlike Bakugo."

Tokoyami spoke, "I can use Dark Shadow to make up for the distance and grab him."

Tenten smiled, "It's an amazing plan, Midoriya. I think you'll have too much weight though, you'll end up plummeting. I'll give you guys a big hang glider." She pulled out a scroll and made a hand sign, causing a hang glider to appear.

Kirishima blinked, "Is there anything you don't carry around in those scrolls?"

"PS5 games."

"But there are no PS5 games."

"Exactly. Now let's start."

Everyone besides Tenten, Mina, and Momo got on the hang glider, and dashed through the wall. Mina looked down in thought, 'Why did I even come on this mission? I've contributed nothing this entire time... am I really that... incompetent?'

The group of students flew high into the air and Sasuke and Bakugo spotted them. Kirishima shouted, "Come on!" Bakugo shot himself up to Kirishima's hand, catching it.

"Sasuke, grab it!" Tokoyami extended Dark Shadow as far as he could, and Sasuke bent his legs as they almost buckled. Blood came out of his mouth, but he held himself together and let energy coil around his legs, jumping as high as he could before grabbing onto Dark Shadow. It receded back into Tokoyami, pulling Sasuke up with it.

Compress was shot into the air by Magne in an attempt to intercept them, but Mt. Lady turned into a giant and blocked him with her face, "Prioritize the rescue... go on you dumb kids."

Magne tried to shoot up Twice next, but Gran Torino blitzed all of them with kicks. Ultimately there was nothing left they could do to get the boys, and the rescue was a success.

The League of Villains was forced into a portal with a forced activation of Magne's quirk as the battle between the two strongest people of the modern era continued.

Further away in a safe part of the city, Sasuke and co made it near a crowd and Sasuke collapsed on the ground. Midoriya went to his side and tried to help him sit up, "Sasuke! What's wrong?"

Bakugo put his hands in his pockets, "Rib that's been puncturing his organs for a couple of days now."

Sasuke started sweating a lot and he coughed up blood, "Yeah... I'm having a hard time even staying conscious right now..."

Kirishima thought, "He was toughing all of that out on just adrenaline? What a man."

Tokoyami pulled out his phone, "I'll call for an Ambulance."

Midoriya's phone rang and he picked it up, "Hey, Todoroki. We're fine. Did you guys get away?"

"Yeah, we ran into some pros that were helping everyone evacuate."

"Nice, we're by the station, the rescue was a success, but we're gonna need to get Sasuke to a hospital. He's bleeding internally."

"I... don't need to go to a hospital right now... I can't miss out on AFO... getting his ass beat..."

Mina leaned over Todoroki's shoulder, "Heyyy, Midoriya. Can you put the phone on speaker real quick?"

Midoriya paused, "Uh... ok sure."

He put the phone on speaker and Mina continued, "Sasuke, how stupid are you?! You're going to a hospital right now! You're lucky to even be alive! You better go or else I'm gonna come over there and make you!"

Sasuke's eyes half closed and Bakugo snickered. "... Fine, I'll go."

An Ambulance pulled up right on time and Midoriya helped Sasuke into the back of it, "Thanks, everyone. I'd be dead now if things went a little differently."

Midoriya smiled, "Of course Sasuke, we'll visit you in the morning. Get some rest."

"Tch, as if I could sleep after everything going on right now."

"Heh, right." The Ambulance doors closed and it drove off with Sasuke.

When he arrived at the hospital, he was put in a room with no TV to his misfortune. The sound of the Hospital staff around him was drowned out as he pondered on everything that happened while staring up at the ceiling. 'Bakugo isn't that bad when he isn't acting like a total dickhead… wait that's all the time… nevermind.'

Anesthesia was injected in him and his body became numb to the physical pain, although the mental pain remained. 'AFO… you piece of shit. I hope All Might lets you live for the sake of me getting strong enough to kill you myself.' His thoughts drifted to the things he said about his Parents treatment. All the bruises, exhaustion, pressure to keep going, the things he missed out on. 'I… 'I've always been a fighter… But that wasn't up to us…'

"Sasuke, we can't afford you going on that School trip. You have responsibilities."

"I've been training all week already! I can't even have one rest day?"

His father looked away for a moment, "... No. Now come."

Sasuke groaned in frustration and looked up at the sky. The sky turned into the hospital ceiling, 'If they really didn't care then… What have I been doing this whole time?'

His thoughts crossed to something else AFO said.

"End up like your brother."

'Could I really have had a brother that died doing the same training I did??... No… He must have been lying. I've never had a brother. My parents would have mentioned it somehow in 9 years… and that's ignoring the fact that their issue that initiated my training only started when I was six… Yeah… He Was just trying to manipulate me… But even still. I want to know if I had one…'
