From the start, Kaito knew that he could escape if he could get a few seconds to use the Crimson Castle's Celestial Key, and he had plenty of time to do this inside the Oshi Auction House and even on the Mugen Pirate gang's boat, but the biggest problem was that, if he chose to do this, when he went to use the key to leave the Crimson Castle, he would return to the exact place where he summoned the portal, meaning that he would still be trapped.
