Chapter 69 - Needs

Panting slightly, Kaito stares at the inert bodies of the three Pedants he killed. 

Under the black hoods that cover their faces, their monstrous features still loom, as if death were not enough to completely erase their terrifying nature. Their pale, almost bluish, wrinkled skins are those of a slowly decaying corpse, contrasting with eyes that once burned an intense red.

Tangled, dirty threads hang from the cloaks they wear, and these tattered garments attest to the years these creatures have been alive—dozens or hundreds of them.
