I walked on too of building with Mahiru filling behind me.

Many hours have passed as it was midnight.

Mahiru was sitting by the edge as she looked up to the stars.

" Wow.... it's so beautiful." She smiled.

I looked at her. This was the first time I saw her genuinely smiling.

Her eyes reflected the universe, each twinkle with an untold story.

I turned back to my human form with my cat ears as I sat next to her.

I took off my sunglasses as I looked at the stars as well.

' It's been a while since I've done stargazing.'

I remembered the time when I and Atlanta would stargaze on the ship under the glowing moon light.

That day when I realized I truly fell for that woman as she never left my mind.

" Maybe that's why..." I muttered to myself.

" Why what?" Mahiru asked as she didn't turn her head away from the stars.

" Atlanta. Maybe that's why I've been more aggressive. The anger for the gods hasn't died. The curse that I couldn't save her from."

" Ahh! The journey..." Mahiru nodded.

It was weird to talk about myself to a demon. But I hoped to know her more.

I knew her but not personally, and I wished for her to stop trying to ake over my mind.

" Don't you get tired?" I asked.

" Tired of what?" She asked with a smile.

" Trying to take over my mind." I replied.

" Hmm, I was close. So close, but... sigh..." She sighed as she hung her head, looking down the building.

" But you didn't... now that you mention, why didn't you do it. You had the perfect opportunity. Even before I dropped you..." Before I could finish, she interrupted me.

" Because you reminded me of someone, before I merged with this...Demon." She lifted her head as she stared at me with her crimson eyes.

" But seeing how strong you were and how you dealt with those humans that were worse than demons... I didn't want change."

" Everything you have done was to help another no matter how cruel you were..." She brought her face closer.

" You were a hero which I respected. To see how you used me to achieve that, I wanted to be a part of it. Even as a sword, your sword." She smiled again but this genuinely.

But I knew that was an illusion.

I stood up and walked away to the corner of the edge.

" Words alone won't trick me. Not again, Mahiru, especially that illilusion you showed me before I lost my memory. I still hold that grudge." I turned look at Mahiru.

She stood up with her hair swaying with the swing as she tucked her hair behind her ear.

" Sigh, I thought you didn't notice that or must've forgotten." She walked towards me with her devilish smile.

" But don't forget. I was the one who broke you away from that chain that held you down." She smiled before disappearing.

I stood there for a few seconds as I realized she was right. Without her illusion, I would've stayed in the past thinking of that woman.

I shook my head before sitting down, crossing my head, and putting my head on my hand, observing the ground below me.

" Sigh, I shouldn't waste time anymore, I'll invade every safe house in this city if I have to."

' After all, I'm a hero that'll save those in need.' I thought as I spotted another spider emblem not far.

With the wind element, I easily landed on the building as I entered from the roof window.

' An abandoned building.' I thought as I looked at the desks and other stuff that were left behind.

I continued to walk, observing the building as I heard voices from below.

The second floor was filled with spider members long with heavy equipment and crares of weapons.

There was a case of dust opening as two members checked them out.

' Hmm..' I grabbed a fire dust from my inventory and tossed it towards the case.

I pulled the pistol from my inventory and shot the dust.

Boom!

The fire dust exploded as I rushed in to finish off the rest.

Unsheathing Mahiru-no-yo I cut through every single one down by decapitation or a cut that decomposed their bodies.

I sheathed Mahiru-no-yo before continuing down the stairs again.

I heard someone climbing the stairs as I quickly jumped over the railing and plunged the hidden blade into their heart.

I lookedndown the stairway and heard voices below.

" What was that?"

" I don't know, idiots must've dropped a dust."

" Tsk. Let's check on them."

" Alright."

I grabbed the dead body and planted an explosive tag on the and threw him down.

Thud!

" W–What!?"

" Shit! It's...!?"

Before the thug could finish, I threw two shurikems, which hit each other, changing their directions.

The two shurikens hit the back of the two thugs necks.

" Hm?" The other ones that were on the same floor noticed.

Unfolding a steel wire, I attached it to the two shurikens and pulled them out.

Zzztt!

Adding lighting to the wires, I swung them across the floor.

" Shit! Intruder!"

They grabbed their guns, but the shurikems attached to the wire reached them faster as it split them and their guns.

" Huh, I should use this more often." I commented on the steel wire and shuriken combo.

I put the two of them back in the ninja bag before searching the floor.

" Now... if I was trying to hide something... I would hide it underground." I spoke aloud as she touched the ground.

I'm getting a quick feel before punching the ground as it caved in.

Boom!

I jumped down and saw many captives.

' There are children as well...' I frowned as I approached the cages.

Created a small ball of light as they all covered their eyes.

I looked around but saw no one that matched the photo.

Sighing, I broke their locks before asking any of them if they knew about Sarah.

But no one heard of her.

Sighing once more, I gave them a supply of food and money as well as one of the spider members scrolling, which Iris unlocked.

I left since I was in a hurry.

I searched every base in the north part of Mistral, and every single one was left in a bloodbath.

I managed to save every captive but not the one I was searching for until I was lead to the final base in the north north-east base.

' This better be it.' I thought as I watched the base from above on the edge of a building.
