Chapter 47: Royal Messenger

As Royal Messenger entered Lord Cedric meeting hall. He witness all the advisor present at the in hall. He walk in front of lords chair. Open a bamboo cone, took out a message from king and hand over to lord Cedric personally.

"Greetings Lord Cedric, I came with the urgent message from the His Majesty. " royal messenger said.

"Thank you for delivering the message mister. You can take rest in our guest room." Lord Cedric called his guards and instruct them to take messenger towards guest room.

Then he open the royal seal and start reading message. Upon reading the message his heart sunk. He already had idea that something like this will happen soon but he wasn't expecting that it will take place this early. In a letter king mention about army of Ravenspire kingdom sailing towards his barony, nearly 3000 strong men. They will be reaching his territory in 1 and half month. King also express his willingness to send troops but it will take time to gather troops and dispatch them towards barony. Lord Cedric share this news with his advisor. They were all also very shocked ,

One of them, his General Philip, " Lord we need to increase our military power as quickly as possible. although it is impossible to train troops in this short time but still we will form new company of troops to protect the surrounding. It is better that nothing. At least we will have chance to defend us properly."

senior advisor of Lord Cedric, Mike stood up "As you all know , we have sturdy walls around the mansion but our city wall is broken, and Because of our deficiency in budget we were unable to repair the wall everytime. it will be a challenging to stop enemy from marching directly into the city. We need to start forming barricade around city first."

Everyone of them started stating there opinion, Baron listen to all of them carefully, he instructed to recruit more young people to solve immediate danger. also took measure in solving barricade problem. They only have one month at most.

As all of this happening inside Lords meeting hall, Our protagonist Oliver was preparing to lay foundation for new Academy building as well as merchant union building. Blast furnace is operating at it full speed. It produced sufficient amount of steel. also he created iron rode for concrete pillars. limestone supply was no problem now. Stone crusher is producing enough lime powder. Brick kiln near the river bank is operating at normal pace and created thousands of bricks ready to transport at any time. Oliver is very happy with all he development around him. He wanted to show the miracle of science by building high building of merchant union and unique set of building for his Academy. He also decided to give his parent's name to the Academy. Military academy will be called as Cedric Carroway Military Academy and Administrative Academy's name will be Amelia Carroway Administrative Academy. After coming to this new world his parent always show care for him. His father always supported his decision. He wanted to gift them this two Academy which will become the most famous institution in future.

In this period there was no social media, phones or faster medium of communication. letter is one medium. But most of the population inside his barony is illiterate. There was no medium by which he can deliver the recent development ,recent news and instruction to people. Most of the people were unaware of the policy created for them by Lord. Oliver wanted to solve this problem.

He thought about creating First Newspaper. name will be News daily. He will operate this newspaper with his own money, Now that he has steel, he can create printing machine to print the content. To solve problem of expensive paper he has already taken a initiative. He hand over the formula for making of the paper to William, his trusted servant and they are experimenting on creating different kind of paper such as for making books, for newspaper.

He has been writing basic books of physics, chemistry, biology, and construction related knowledge in the evening. He will reprint those books and they will be given to the student off academy for learning purpose.

Although creating a newspaper is good for him. but again most of the people are illiterate and can't read. To solve this problem he thought about creating post of Newsreader. This newsreader position can be given to a scholars in the kingdom. This scholars mainly preparing for the imperial examination to become official but competition is very high there. Because of this even after spending so many coins they were unemployed. Oliver wanted to use them to read news paper content to people and deliver his message to people. In future he can form direct line of communication between him and people.

All of this is going through Oliver's mind. He reach Blacksmith Tobias shop. Tobias was seating on chair relaxing. Oliver came to ask for two sword which he ordered yesterday, He wanted to present his father and brother with good weapon.

"Tobias did you completed the task I have given you yesterday."

" Oh, come on, I never break my promises, I have created them in the evening. They are my best creation up to this point. Look at this." With this he lifted one of the sword and handed it to Oliver.

Upon getting the sword , Oliver take to out from sheet, He really felt sharpness of steel. It was shining and medium weight. much better than iron sword. It can maintain its sharpness for longer period. With happy smile Oliver rewarded Tobias and started his walk towards his father's study.

Upon reaching the study room he felt some kind of tense atmosphere around people. he saw herald with very tense face. He had never seen them this tense. with this thought he knock on the door. "Father, It me, Oliver. can I come in"

"yes Oliver "

His father was discussing something with Mike and General Philip. Oliver pause for sometime. He greeted all of them and turned towards his father to present him with the gift.
