Reunion III

Adam woke up early the following day and ventured out to find his father. Knowing that Mark was also an early riser, he searched the bustling center of the gymnasium camp. As he scanned the area, he observed the transformation of the once-empty gymnasium into a bustling hub of activity. Tents were arranged in a circular pattern, encircling a makeshift fire pit at the center that served as the communal cooking area.

The survivors had come to accept the grim reality that the military might never come to their aid. They remained cautious, wary of potential encounters with the military and the uncertain intentions they might harbor. In this dangerous world, trust was a scarce commodity.
