"You're not wearing the shirt I chose," Marcella said. She wanted to see his reaction.
She felt like a fish out of water not knowing what he was thinking. If he had something to say, he could. Why was he not saying anything?
She regretted asking the question seeing his reaction. She had never seen him that angry. She feared he might hurt her. His eyes were red and the nerves on his forehead were popping, his jaws were clenched and face was twitching.
"I lied, Tony," she said.
She didn't want to run away. She had made it her principle to not lie to him and she was not going to break it because he was mad.
"Beth was in this room. She made all the mess. I am sorry. I couldn't refuse her when she was excited. It was my fault to break our promise. I… It might appear that I prioritized her, but I love you the most. I understand why you are mad. I knew you have important papers in the room and yet~"
