They were quite jealous to hear about the exploits of the other group through the reports they received.
They hoped that they would be able to finish things quickly so that they could gain some support.
If things kept going on without their people aiding them or something else happening soon then it would be their lives that would be in danger.
Tiffany could hear their words even as they tried to keep their voices to the minimum and sent back some information to Butch about what he should expect.
She was even more certain that someone was lurking in the shadows of their group that was just waiting for their chance to strike.
One person was struggling against the enemy out in the open as both rolled around on the ground exchanging blows.
They were both covered in wounds as they tried to defeat the other.
Their grunts and the other noises created by both of them caused their positions to be easily detectable by anyone nearby.
One among them rolled over to get on top as they raised their arms above their head. "Die!"
Panic filled the face of the one underneath as they were in a vulnerable position and pinned down without the ability to stop what was coming.
Just as their life was about to end, another figure jumped in all of a sudden.
Butch appeared just in time and tackled the person on top causing them to take a tumble on the ground.
Butch unleashed a flurry of ruthless punches onto their face causing them to be knocked into a slightly stunned and disorderly state.
His fist loosened as his claws came out. "Now you die!"
Just as he was about to swipe toward the throat of that person, he suddenly moved making full use of his speed.
A loud bang came from behind him as his ally pointed a gun toward the location where he was previously.
The bullet passed through the air where he was before he moved then hit another target causing the enemy to be shot. "Gah!"
A cold look appeared in the eyes of Butch who narrowly avoided the gunshot. "So it was like that."
His body disappeared from where he was as he started moving as quickly as possible.
Butch went under the cover of his environment once more as more bullets were fired toward him. "Damn! Damn! Damn!"
There was a mix of gunfire and the screams of his ally who had been shooting toward him.
While Butch had been aware of there being traitors among his people, he did not know which among them were truly traitors.
He could not afford to doubt those who were in danger but he would not relax his vigilance either.
His various senses were always on alert and he was able to pick up on the removal of the gun before it was even fired.
He was able to hear the moment that his ally had got back up onto their feet before they took out the gun.
He may have trusted his allies but he trusted the words of Tiffany more.
The whole scenario was just a trap to draw him in.
Everything was all an act being played out between his ally and the enemy who were working together.
Their fight out in the open without any attempts to cover up the noises being made was just a tiny sign that could point out the cause of their intentions.
Either they were acting out the fight to draw someone out or they were just too invested in the fight to care about the consequences of their actions drawing others to their location.
Butch already warned his allies that they should only use a stealthy approach to catch the opponents off guard so it was unusual that they were fighting out in the open.
If they followed what he said with absolute loyalty then they would never have been positioned in such a location.
A sigh escaped his mouth as he ducked for cover and removed a revolver from under his coat. "It seems that Tiffany was right. I had to go along with it just to confirm if what she said was true but..."
Disappointment was in his gaze as he recalled how many of his allies had come together through many hardships only to reach such a point.
He could only feel sorrow for a moment before steeling his resolve. "Well... that is one traitor identified."
His body began moving all of a sudden as he counted the number of shots that were fired. '
Butch knew that there would be a tiny window of opportunity the moment that the last bullet was fired or one remained.
He jumped out toward another location to gain cover again causing the final bullet to miss him before running toward the direction of the shooter.
His body leaped into the air over where the shooter was hiding and the gun in his hand pointed toward them.
As his body and the gun aligned with the target, he pulled the trigger causing the bullet to enter their body. "Die treacherous scum."
While he would have to explain his actions and reasonings to his other allies, it couldn't be helped that he had to take such an action.
The situation was one of kill or be killed.
There was no room available for holding onto old feelings and considering the consequences of his actions.
Butch landed after firing one accurate shot that killed his target before fleeing.
One arm turned toward the wounded enemy firing another toward them while they were still hurt and vulnerable. "I need to get out of here."
