SET ON THEIR PURPOSES
(JACK AND CAMILY)
Jack stood outside Roberto's hospital room, his phone pressed to his ear as he talked to his secretary, Dianne. The sterile white walls and the low hum of medical equipment created a stark resemblance to the tranquility in his voice.
"Dianne, make sure the contracts are finalized and sent over to the legal team by the end of the day. We can't afford any delays on this deal," Jack instructed, his tone firm and businesslike.
Dianne's voice came through the phone, her efficient demeanor matching his. "Of course, Jack. I'll get right on it, and I'll inform the legal team immediately."
Just as Jack was about to end the call with Dianne, another call lit up his phone screen. He glanced at the caller ID and noticed it was an unknown number. With a sigh, he pressed the hold button on his conversation with Dianne and switched to the new call.
"Hello," Jack said, his voice still tinged with a sense of tranquility.
