Just then, their classmate Cheng Jiayi went to their table, and a gloating smirk was plastered on her lips.

"Xia Mingzhou are you just gonna sit there? Your fiance is about to be stolen by your cousin... or cousins if I may correct." She mocked as she gestured towards a certain table.

Xia Mingzhou gritted her teeth when she heard her words, her fists tightly clenched.

Her classmates who were sitting around her were dumbfounded.

"You have a fiance Mingzhou?"

"Wait, who's your fiance?"

Cheng Jiayi then added as she giggled, "Oh sorry, the engagement still isn't fixed because Gao Tian doesn't want her as his fiancee, it was only her family's illusion."

When they heard Gao Tian's name, they were even more stunned.

"What the..."

"You're not just making this up Cheng Jiayi?" Lai Li glared at the other girl.

"Do you think Xia Mingzhou is worth my time to make up some bullshit about her?" The girl then retaliated.

"Well, you're surely wasting your time trying to get on my nerves." Xia Mingzhou smiled, trying not to show that it isn't that much of a big deal to her.

Cheng Jiayi giggled, "Well I sure am doing a good job."

Lia Li glared at her.

"You better protect your ticket to the capital from other hands." Chen Jiayi stated with a mocking smile as she sat back at her table.

Xia Mingzhou glared at her back.

"Mingzhou, is what she said true?"

She hesitatingly nodded.

"Dad is talking with Gao Electronics regarding some project. If no problem would occur, the engagement will go through." She smiled a little.

"But what's up with Gao Tian?" Lai Li asked as she looked over at the table again.

The five of them were peacefully eating.

Lai Li's facial expression distorted when she saw that.

She wanted to believe that Gao Tian hurt his head instead.

"I think it's because we're still too young right now. I was also against it, but Grandpa wanted for this engagement to happen so I agreed."

"Oh so that's why, then don't worry about it, Gao Tian will surely change his mind." Lai Li comforted her friend, quite envious that she was gonna be Gao Tian's fiancee.

Not only does Gao Tian have an excellent background but he is also handsome and tall, he's also well known for being an all-rounder in sports. Other than his somehow disappointing grades and always getting into fights, everything was great about him.

"I didn't really wanna tell anyone about this because it's still not sure." Xia Mingzhou added.

"Come on, we completely understand. That Cheng Jiayi is just being a bitch. Your engagement doesn't have anything to do with her yet she's sticking her nose in it." One of her close friends remarked.

The others nodded and agreed with her words.

Xia Mingzhou turned her head towards Gao Tian's table, her eyes sinking into something else.

Cheng Jiayi had always been at odds with her since then.

It was because the two of them are always compared and they are always only a few points apart in every exam.

Cheng Jiayi isn't afraid to go against her because she is the Principal's niece and aside from that, just like Gao Tian, her family is connected to the big families in the capital.

Cheng Jiayi knew about her and Gao Tian's supposed to be engagement because, during the family meeting in a hotel, Cheng Jiayi bumped into them and heard about it.

Since then, the girl had always mocked her about trying to climb her way up.

Xia Mingzhou was afraid she will bring trouble to her father's company so she held her temper every time Cheng Jiayi mocks her.

Cheng Jiayi is right.

She should guard her ticket on climbing her way up from being stolen by other hands, especially if those hands are those of the Jiang sisters.

It was past 4 pm when the class ended.

The two new students were told to get their books and uniform from the Office.

After which dorm they will be staying in was settled, the two sisters decided to move out from the penthouse.

"Sister, why don't you call Young Master Luo and inform him?"

Jiang Yue called Luo Zhelan, and it was answered in the first few rings.

"The dorm transfer is settled, we're gonna move out from your place tonight."

Jiang Xiu moved closer to her and whispered, "Sister let's invite Young Master Luo to a dinner to thank him."

Hearing that, Jiang Yue couldn't help but tease, "Do you have money? You don't even want to take the Uber last time."

Her sister pouted, "I got my savings from the Villa last time, so there's still enough for me to pay for a simple dinner." Jiang Xiu said and then she got worried, "Young Master Luo wouldn't be offended if we treat him to a simple one, right? I can't afford a fancy one right now."

Jiang Yue simply raised her eyebrow at that and said to the phone, "We want to invite you to a dinner to thank you."

Luo Zhelan who was finally being remembered by the girl, said with a smile, "Sure, can I pick the place?"

"Up to you."
