Vs. King Charizard

I considered splitting this into 2 parts, but chose not to, so enjoy the long chapter.

Charizard flew into the air after roaring out his challenge, those that saw him one-shot the cocky Charizard didn't take it as a joke, after all, that, other Charizard may have been cocky, but it was for a good reason he was at the top 10 of the entire valley, and Charizard just took him out like it was nothing.

Suddenly, five warrior Charizard flew up and confronted Charizard. The largest of the group flew close, trying to defuse this since they could tell Charizard wasn't lying he was serious, we wanted to declare war on Charicific Valley.

"Char! Charizard! [Young one, don't do this you proved your power with the other Charizard you took down, you don't have to fight us this won't end up good for you you shall only bring trouble to yourself.]"

Charizard put on a grin, "Charizard! [Try to stop me. I said that I'm not stopping until I fight the king, and if you stand in my way, I'll take you down!]"

The older Charizard sighed as the 4 other Charizard got in formation behind him, "Char [Very well then, I have no choice I will take you down!]"

Charizard smiled, "Charizard! [5 against 1, that's not very fair]"

"Char…[you declared war, we will not play fair]" the old Charizard said

Charizard smirked, "Charizard~[I meant it wasn't fair for you~]"

In a swift movement, Charizard was replaced with an afterimage as he appeared behind the 5 Charizard and sent a [Dragon Tail] directly at the one in the back, sending it plummeting and crashing into the ground.

The remaining 4 rushed forward, each charging their own attack, the one in the back shooting a [Ancient Power] as the 3 rushing at him charged up there [Metal Claws]

Charizard retaliated by extending his own claws. First, they grew a greenish color as he created his [Dragon Claw] and flew forward with the first 2 slashes he parried the first 2 Charizard's claws, also slicing 2 of the rocks, then when the 3rd came, his tail glowed as he spun using another [Dragon Tail] to block it.

Charizard then used the momentum of his tail hitting the Charizard and forced it to become its Pokemon shield, blocking the incoming [Ancient Power] with the Charizard's body, and when the rocks stopped coming that, Charizard fell out of the sky as well.

Charizard smiled as he could feel his blood starting to pump, his extended claws then grew longer as he switched to [Shadow Dragon's Claw], his long claws a dark purple as he rushed forward and, with 2 slashes, came down on the 2 Charizard in front of him.

They raised their own claws up, blocking Charizard's claws as sparks started flying. The old Charizard in the back started charging another attack to retaliate, but Charizard didn't let it happen.

Charizard moved his claws, intertwining them with the claws of the other Charizards then, once they were clasped, he swung his body around and threw them to the ground in a double [Seismic Toss].

Then, as the old Charizard was about to throw his attack, Charizard appeared in front of him and grabbed the old Charizard by the jaw before spinning and diving into the ground with the old Charizard in his hand, crashing into the stone ground.

As the collision shook the mountains, the old Charizard was still up, so Charizard picked him up and threw him face first into the stone mountain, then started running, dragging the Charizard's face across the mountain before he threw him back on the ground leaving a crack on the stone floor knocking the wind out of the older Charizard.

That Charizard struggled to get the wind back in him, but one stomp to the chest from Charizard knocked the old Charizard out.

Charizard stood there, staring down the shocked faces of many Charizards that watched him take down a team of 5 experienced Charizards by himself, Charizard flew up and roared, demanding his next challenge.

The Charizard in the valley weren't cowards they knew they needed to fight, but then Charizard saw something: one of the non-warriors Charizard was about to fly up, so with anger in his eyes, he roared.

"RAAAARRR [ALL OF YOU, IF YOU ARE NOT A WARRIOR, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING UP HERE OR SO HELP ME, I WILL KILL YOU!]"

The anger and authority in Charizard's roar shook the valley, and the non-warrior Charizard immediately took a step back involuntarily it was like there was something forcing them to do as he said.

Now that the non-fighters were backing down to protect the valley their own way instead of fighting, all the warrior Charizards started flying up, surrounding the lone Charizard.

But Charizard wasn't scared; he smiled. He knew this was it, and after this, he would undoubtedly prove himself.

Charizard roared again, popping a [Dragon Dance] and flying up to meet the small army head-on.

Back on the ground, the gang, Liza and Charla, were watching in shock, especially Ash. He did not expect this to happen; he didn't know why this was happening.

"Ash, what's going on!" Yellow asked, grabbing onto Chuchu in a tight hug

"Yeah, you didn't put him up to this, did you?" Misty asked, looking at Ash up and down

Pikachu also looked at him, squinting at Ash as if trying to stare through him and read his mind, slowly leaning in closer to Ash as he did

Ash shook his head, pushing Pikachu away, "No way, I didn't do anything I don't know why he's doing this," 

"Then why is Charizard trying to fight all the other Charizard?" Brock asked

"It's not just fighting, Ash's Charizard has declared war on Charicific Valley!" Liza said, looking up to see Charizard grabbing two other Charizard and throwing them before flipping and slashing at another with his wings.

"W-war!?" Misty and Brock said in unison

Liza came up to Ash, grabbed his shirt, and started shaking him, "Can't you stop this! Stop things at once you're his trainer do something about it!

"I-want-to-but-i-can't-like-this!" Ash said as he was being shaken back and forth

Pikachu was still on his shoulder. He tried to hold on, but Pikachu was sent flying away with a "Pikaaaa!!!"

Pikachu flying away was promptly ignored as Misty came up and put a hand on Liza, pulling her back, "Hey, calm down, calm down!"

Liza took a breath, letting go of Ash's shirt, "You're right…" She let go of Ash, and as soon as she did, Misty took her spot.

"Because it's my turn!" Misty said as she came up and grabbed Ash's shirt and started shaking him, "What did you do?!"

Ash was getting violently shaken again, "I-didn't-do-any-thing!" 

Brock got in the center and Pushed Misty away from Ash, "Stop that, giving Ash more brain damage isn't going to do anything!"

Misty crossed her arms and looked away, "It feels like it is,"

Ash held his head and shakily took a step forward, trying to clear his head, as he did, he could feel his heartbeat, and for some reason, his chest started Hurting on the place where he had his scar

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

Yellow looked at Ash, "Ash, are you ok…?"

Ash nodded and took a breath, yelling as loud as he could, "CHARIZARD!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

From the sky, Charizard threw another Charizard, using him as a weapon, spinning his body around and crashing it into more, he heard Ash's shout and looked over to see Ash down there yelling at him.

Charizard wanted to go now, but he couldn't, he wanted to do this, he HAD to do this, it was all for him, all for Ash.

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

Charizard could feel it, that feeling was coming back he just needed to grab it, to force it out, his blood was pumping, 

Charizard looked around, seeing that he was being surrounded by multiple Charizard, he grinned and raised his fist, "Charizard. Char… [Fine, come as close as you want. However…. This will be the last time!]"

The Charizard started flying down to hit Charizard; some shooting ranged attacks and a bunch running to close courtesy combat, 

Charizard caught the fist of one Charizard and sent a punch at the one's arm before throwing it down, he spun around and sent an uppercut to another before spinning his body and sending a kick to send him plummeting down and using the momentum to kick another in the face.

One was coming behind, so he hushed his tail, grabbing its food and spinning it, making it fall upsidedown as he turned around and sent a punch to its stomach, then he turned and grabbed another, using it as a shield, blocking the ranged attack and throwing it into another Charizard.

Two more came at him from both sides, so he jumped and kicked both of them in the face, as he did, one Charizard surprised him, grabbing him from being, the 2 Charizard that he kicked looked up and sent a combined punch attack into Charizard's stomach.

Charizard coughed some spit but clenched his jaw as he grabbed the one behind him and threw him at the 2 Charizard before spinning around and hitting all 3 with a [Thunder Punch], sending them falling.

Another came and tried to punch him, but Charizard dodged left then right before grabbing its head and using his knee to kick it in the face.

Charizard was fighting hard, and he could feel it, his heart pumping, his blood boiling, this was it, this was that feeling he just needed to force it out!

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

As everyone was on the ground watching Charizard fight, Ash felt a sharp pain in his chest. His heart started beating fast as he clenched his shirt in the palace where his heart was.

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

Ash was breathing heavily as he clenched his chest, the pain hurt; every time his heart would beat, he would feel that pain.

Everyone was surprised when Ash started to grab his shirt and leaned over his face, showing he was holding back a grunt of pain.

Brock ran over and caught Ash supporting him, "Ash, what's wrong!"

Yellow quickly ran over and hesitated as she was about to heal Ash, "Ash, should I…"

Ash took a breath, "I'm fine…but this is getting more… complicated.."

"What do you mean by that?" Liza said she could see something was happening with Charizard, as an expert, she saw something, and seeing Ash, she could tell the same thing was happening to him.

Ash knew what was going on, Charizard was trying to force the battle bond; it's supposed to be a combination of a person and their Pokemon, but Charizard doesn't know that, so he's forcing the transformation, not knowing what he's doing.

Ash Ash could feel their hearts since he could start feeling something: adrenalin, excitement, and a lingering fear and doubt in the back of his head, like something was holding him back.

Ash decided to finally check Charizard in his dex; he hadn't checked on him using it since way back when he first evolved, so he never used the condition upgrade on him.

[Condition - Broken emotional state: Charizard's fear of being useless is causing him to act out and unconsciously hold himself back. He doesn't want to lose in fear he will be abandoned again, until this is resolved, Charizard will suffer a permanent -1 to all stats]

[Solution - Help him emotionally!]

Ash's eyes widened, why didn't he see it before, it all made sense now, the way Charizard acted, he distanced himself, he was the first to comfort someone after a loss and always said that he would carry their burden.

"I'm an Idiot…" Ash mumbled. They heard it, but they didn't realize what he was talking about

How did he not see this, why didn't he say something, no this isn't Charizard's fault it's his fault he's his trainer and friend he should have seen it this sooner, he should have helped Charizard more.

Charizard was surrounded by all sides he could see all the Charizard rushing at him, ready to pile on him to take him down, 

A Charizard grabbed his arm, then another his leg. He tried to push it back, but another came and another and another, until where Charizard stood, there was a ball of Charizard.

They were about to ask what he was talking about, but Ash stepped up to the edge of the cliff and yelled as loud as he could, "CHARIZARD!!!"

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

Charizard was in the dark. The Charizard surrounding him covered every entrance, and the only light was from his tail flame, but he heard something: Ash yelling his name

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

He grit his teeth as the fire on his tail burned, his eyes shined a bright blue, he wasn't fighting for himself!

*Bum**Bum**Bum*

As the Charizard ball was starting to try to move from the cracks between their bodies, a bright light shined through, and then the light started to flow like it was a bright white fire, and it began dancing like smoke.

From the ball, more smoke and fire started exiting, being Charizard. They all were used to heat, but this heat was starting to make them sweat.

Ash clenched his chest and fell to his knee. Everyone quickly ran over to try and help Ash, but Ash looked up, "It's back…"

They looked confused as they looked up, seeing the smoke start to move as if it was fire and spin in a spiral.

"What are you talking about, what is going on?" Liza asked

Ash took a breath, "Battle bond…"

From their ball of Charizard, suddenly, a force from the inside exploded in a bright show of flame, the blue fire flowed, sending all the Charizards flying around in all directions, knocking out some and weakening others.

There flapping his wings, his fire shooting from his mouth, his fire brighter than ever and a deep blue, his wings longer, his claws sharper, Ash-Charizard was back, this was his semi-perfect form.

Charizard roared loudly as everyone was looking at him, especially everyone on the ground.

Some of the Charizard were starting to hesitate, Charizard already took down about half of all of the Charizard in the valley, and not all of the remaining Charizard were warriors.

The remaining Charizard were about to fly up to protect what little they could when suddenly a louder roar came from deep in the valley.

From the valley, a powerful force stomped out. There was a Charizard, but this one was much bigger; he had many signs showing he was old but powerful, and he had many scars, but the thing of note was there was a single slash on his chest.

No one had to say anything; this was obvious: this was the king Charizard.

The King roared, looking at all his warriors, Charizard either hurt or unconscious, those who were still up took a knee, except for one, a strange young Charizard, he heard everything from his cave he didn't need to ask.

The King walked up his stomp shook the entire valley as he looked to one of the remaining warrior, Charizard, "Char…[It's been a while since I stretched my legs; this young one is interesting,]"

Charizard looked down and smiled, "Charizard! [You're the king, right? Then I challenge you!]"

The king looked up every Charizard was shocked hearing this, expecting the king to glare at the young Charizard, but he only laughed, "Char! [Oh, a feisty one, I like it very well, young one I accept your challenge; show me what that strength you have can do.]"

Charizard flawed his wings, and in a flash, he appeared next to the king, ready to deliver a [Dragon Claw], but as it came down, the king raised his hand, easily stopping it with his own [Dragon Claw]

"Char..[Good strength, but you're using too many useless movements, and you're not fighting with everything I can tell, your scared,]" the king said as sparks flowed from their claws

"Charizard! [Who's scared of an old man like you!]"

"Charizard…[I never said that fear was directed at me…]" the kind said as he looked at Charizard's eyes, seeing Ash there.

Charizard's eyes widened that the king was seeing through him. He grit his teeth and spun around, aiming to hit a [Dragon Tail], but the king caught that with his other hand

"Chariza- [I told you your movements ar-]" the king started but was stopped when suddenly Charizard sent a surprise [Fire Dragon's Roar] to the king's face.

The king took it and smiled, "Charizard! [I'll give you that one, alright then get ready let's let the real fight begin!]"

The King sent a single punch at Charizard. Charizard raised his arms, blocking it, but the force still sent him flying back and crashing into a rock.

Charizard struggled to get back up but was immediately greeted when the king appeared in front of him and stomped on his head, sending them both down, breaking and splitting the rock with Charizard's body.

Charizard had the wind knocked out of him, but he grit his teeth and, grabbed the king's foot, and spun around, causing the king to fall to the ground as he spun around, charging up his [Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist] and flying down, sending it down at the kind making the ground shake.

The king was standing there with a smile on his face as Charizard's fist was there hitting his chest, but he didn't even look like it affected him as much as Charizard would have liked.

The King grabbed his arm, pulling it back and pointing at his chest, "Charizard~ [This is a real scar; only one Charizard was able to give me this, and you are nothing like him~]"

Charizard glared down as he angrily shot his strongest [Dragon Breath] into the king's face. It hurt a bit, but the king reached his arm forward through the purple flame and closed Charizard's mouth.

He smirked, "Char [My turn]"

The king shot his own [Dragon Breath], which was much stronger than Charizard, and he was sent flying back into the air, Charizard was breathing heavily as the king appeared then, grabbed Charizard by the neck, and held him up

"Charizard, [is this all, I expected more,]" the king said, smirking

Charizard looked at him weakly; he was hurt and was barely still able to fight, and his chest hurt.

Down below, Ash was breathing heavily his heart was hurting, and the pain Charizard was feeling, he was sharing it with Ash. He fell down to both knees, and he clenched his shirt, 

Charizard looked down and saw Ash clenching his chest; it seemed like his chest hurt, it's strange, his chest also hurt. Specifically, his heart…wait a minute…

Something occurred to Charizard: whenever he went into this form, he felt his heart sync, but he just assumed it was nothing, maybe something random. But now, seeing this, he realized something: he was in sync with Ash, meaning he was causing Ash that pain,

Charizard felt something snap in him as he raised up and caught the king's fist that was about to send him flying back down, unlike before Charizard was starting to push the king back, 

The King was surprised, but before he could say anything, Charizard charged a new move he had created just now, and he flipped his body in a switch as he slashed into the king's chest with a [Fire Dragon's Claw (Iron Dragon's Claw + Fire Punch)]

The slash caught the king by surprise as he stumbled back, and what surprised him more was no on his chest the slash was now an X scar, Charizard managed to leave a scar on his hard chest, it was far less deep than the first, but it was still a scar, that left evry Charizard in the valley stunned.

Charizard flew back as he started charging his final attack. The king, still shocked that he was pushed like this, smiled as he also flew back, "Charizard! [Yes, this is what I want! Give me the battle I crave!]"

The king charged his own [Flamethrower], a move that he already mastered from years of training. This was his perfect attack: no unnecessary wasted energy, no spread, just a pure blast.

Charizard charged up a move he hadn't used in a while, as his mouth charged up, a purple beam of energy started to spiral, and flashes of electricity started sparking as he was ready to shoot his [Eternabeam]

Everyone was watching this: the people, the Charizard, and even the air seemed to be quite ready to see this.

The 2 blasts shot out and met in the middle, clashing against each other. The king looked like he was laughing, but Charizard was scared. He didn't want to lose; he never wanted to lose, not ever again, he hated it.

As he shot it, he could feel he was losing the clash, he was scared, and he could only think of one thing, 'nononononnononono'

Charizard closed his eyes tightly, 'Arceus, I have never once asked you for anything, but I'm asking now. Please let me win... Please help me!'

The beams clashed, and a bright flash that created an explosion in the air covered the sky and shook the Valley.

The King and Charizard were flying in the air, for a moment, it looked like nothing had happened; they were flying, catching their breaths, but then Charizard fell out of his battle bond form, and his wings stopped flapping.

He fell back and started falling to the ground head first, and there was only one thought on his mind, 'I lost…'
