"After all, many men have this innate desire to be seen as heroes, and Sophia's fragility might have made her an appealing damsel in distress that he wanted to protect," she added, her voice filled with understanding.

"But what I don't understand," Vivian continued, her confusion evident, "Why Sophia is so stubborn to go back to Allen." She furrowed her brow, trying to make sense of Sophia's seemingly irrational behavior. Sophia's persistent attachment to Allen remained a mystery.
