83.10 Reflection

"Didn't you want to talk to us about something?" I asked, feeling Lise's grip on my shoulder tighten as I spoke. "You can't do that if you don't want to join us, right?"

A spark of anxiety burned in the young girl's eyes before it was extinguished with reluctant acceptance. Pushing herself off her knees, the young girl looked scared of her own shadow as she reluctantly tailed us towards the rest of the party. I kept giving her glances out of worry, my own sensibilities making it impossible for me to ignore depression whenever I see it happening.

I couldn't just leave this alone, "Hey, Lise, have you talked to Alset?"

My sister whispered into my ear, "A few times. What's wrong?"

"That girl needs a friend, badly," I stressed. "I'm sure you can see that she's suffering. She might've been our enemy, but..."

"We can't just leave her to die, right?" Lise finished my sentence for me. "I understand. Don't worry, Brother."
