18) Test Your Valor - Finland Pt. 3

"Face me, warriors!"

Immediately, the gilded adversary flung a set of 3 blades coming from its wings. I was able to only slightly hit them away with the broad side of the oar, but another set of 3 was coming in extremely fast.

"Focus, Furō!"

Nanami grabbed the back of my uniform and tossed me over gently, while also dodging the blades. The real fight hasn't even begun and I'm already the weakest link!

I got up quickly and began releasing my CE. If I could make contact with the Valkyrie with my oar, there's a small chance I can make the impact explode due to the phosphorus and oxygen interacting with each other. I just need some type of contact with the broad to initiate the explosion.

I rushed in with my oar at astonishing speeds, swinging it mercilessly at the Valkyrie. Although the goal was to strike with the broad side for big damage, I can do a little bit of minor slicing with the narrow side. Nanami assisted me in my wide swings, where I was most vulnerable, parrying the metallic wings.

I'm not sure if he's aware that I'm blowing up this Valkyrie on my next clean strike though…

I kicked off the Valkyrie's torso and flipped over Nanami's back, then began sprinting away while he fought her off. I needed to disengage momentarily to get a running start for my devastating attack…that doesn't have a name.

I started up slowly, and steadily gained enough speed to launch myself in the air.

"LOOK OUT BELOW!! I'M COMING DOWN WITH A 'NEMEAN CRUSH!'" I yelled as I came down spinning with Onamazu overhead.

Nanami struck a critical hit on the Valkyrie's gut, leaving it stunned for a few seconds and he hastily moved out the way. When I came down from heaven, the Valkyrie looked up at me and covered itself up with a wing almost instantly.

The broad side of my oar made immaculate contact with it's wing, causing a minor blast in the area (hopefully Nanami got out of that.)

I slid back from the shockwave, anchoring Onamazu in the ground to stop. When the dust settled, a fat chunk of the wing was missing, indicating significant damage. On the other hand, the Valkyrie was now holding a bright, golden spear that was mostly obscured by her now partially destroyed wing.

"Good shit!" I said to myself out loud.

"Keep on the pressure Furōkawa, it's brought out a new weapon so expect new and more lethal attacks." Nanami stood straight and looked ahead at the curse.

I stood up, spun the oar, and mounted it behind my back.

"What is your name, warrior." The Valkyrie opened up its wings and revealed a long, gilded spear, matching its golden armor. The point gleamed with a slight brightness that could only be explained as looking into the sun itself.

"Furōkawa. Yours?"

"Geirdriful. The Spear-Flinger."

"Why do that call you that?" I said as I got ready for another attack.

"…"

Okay…rude.

I noticed that the bracelets it wore were also glowing. They weren't before the spear was pulled out though, so I can suspect they have something to do with the spear.

"Well you don't have to tell me anything then! Get ready for round two!!"
