This time our kiss was slow, it was filled with love. His lips moved softly over mine, caressing them.
I knew it wasn't just a kiss.
It was a promise.
/"I love you Nate./" I looked deeply into his eyes.
He smiled. His arm went around my waist as he pulled me to him.
/"I'm done living in my past Verena. I've finally learned to let go. Now all I care about is the future./" He leaned in till his forehead came to rest against mine.
/"You are my future Verena Dawson./" He whispered.
/"And you are mine, Nate Cohen./"
The past can be ugly.
The past can be filled with pain and regret.
