Julia Locke POV:
My team had tried to warn me against just walking back into my house, but I ignored them. I knew where anyone could hide in my house, and I knew I would be able to deal with them if anyone tried to jump out at me.
The Red Chapter had made a mess of my place.
Footprints on my carpet and floors, some of my furniture had been turned over. Honestly, the nerve of some people. They come into my house, they mess it up, and then they didn’t have the decency to clean up after themselves.
At the very least though, I could make sure they couldn’t get back in.
As the other members of my team spread out into my house, checking for people I knew weren’t there, I headed down to my basement so I could check the entrances to my tunnels. Two of them had been broken open. The other three were still closed, but it looked like the intruders had certainly tried to get them open.
I got the open tunnels sealed again before I headed back upstairs.
