In a secluded room, Shane and Nara were looking at this new group of six people, this was a kind of advanced procedure to find out what kind of person joined their community and to have a check on their actions.
So far, there were over 350 people in the prison and all of them had joined or at least most of them had joined past this process. Some during all this time had been transported to the city of Atlanta, but because the trip was long and dangerous, it was decided that refugee transports would be made when the prison could no longer hold any more people.
But back to the test, it consisted of two very important processes. The first was simple multiple choice questions, there were questions such as: Have you ever killed a person? Have you ever killed a walker? What are you willing to do to protect your life?
All of these questions at first glance seemed to be to judge whether the person was good or bad, but that was something the S.C.T. didn't care about it. In the first place, this was done to find out if the person was lying and to find out to what extent they could become dangerous.
But this could be found with the second test that is carried out shortly after the person answers the multiple choice questions. Seeing the watch on her hand, Nara looked at Shane and nodded.
Shane, who knew the time had come, stood up and said, "Alright, I guess you had enough time to solve these questions honestly."
"Yes, we're done." Ramon and the others handed the sheets with the questions to Shane and waited in silence for what was next.
Seeing that the sheets were handed to him, Nara started working and said, "Alright, we start with the first person and that's Jazmín ."
As Jazmín heard this, a curtain covering some unfamiliar instruments were shown to the group of six, these devices were very modern and very few people should be familiar with them.
But Nara would not wait for people to guess what was about to happen either, so while extending some wires towards Jazmín 's hand, she said, "What you are all looking at is a polygraph, in a few words a lie detector. In a few moments we will select the most important questions and if they are answered correctly and without anomalies, this will be over quickly."
"But if we find out that you lied in your answers, you will have serious problems for your future. Well, let's get started as soon as possible." Nara said as she turned on the equipment.
She then moved hands, placed some wires on Jazmín 's fingers, looked at the outgoing information from her computer, leaned back and took the sheet with the answers written down, and then Nara looked directly at Jazmín .
You have to know that in this kind of test, people usually tend to answer the best they can to leave a good impression even if in the end it is not true what they answer, and this test will be able to evaluate the answers given.
Jazmín , who was sitting across from Nara, looked at the woman who was apparently the same age as her. She didn't expect this kind of device to exist in this place, even if she answered some questions correctly she felt nervous inexplicably.
"Alright, we can start with the questions, are you ready?" Nara looked up and looked at Jazmín .
"Yes."
Hearing the answer, Nara looked down at the sheets in her hands and asked the first question, "You only have to answer with yes or no, don't say any words other than those two answers. Your name is Jazmín , right?"
"What?" Jazmín 's expression changed when she heard this question, obviously her name is Jazmín but she didn't understand anything that was happening.
"Just answer with a yes or no, no other answer will be heard." Shane said with a shrewd look. Since Airon left the prison, he personally took this job to maintain security inside the prison and have control over the people who took refuge in this place.
Shane, being a cautious man who likes to always stay on the safe side, was obviously the one to oversee this little job and make sure nothing happened.
Fortunately, this job was not a lot of effort, and even if there were people lying in the answers to these questions they were simply reformed.
Jazmín , who was silent, felt and answered, "Yes."
"As your answer says so, you would do everything possible to keep a child's life even if the child is about to die at the hands of a walker, is that true?" Nara looked at the content being output by the lie detector carefully.
"Yes."
"First lie detected, like many you too put your life ahead."
Nara, who was familiar with this type of questioning, was unfazed by the first answer that was not answered with the truth. Although she admits that she would put her safety before that of a child she doesn't know, it's not about simple heroism or dignity, it's about survival and everyone today is all they think about.
Shane's eyes showed nothing of what he was thinking either, many of the people entering the prison as new refugees had a highly developed survival instinct and understood the hell it was to live out there with the walkers.
However, after training depending on the rank of authority they wished to obtain was the type of person they would become. Of the three ranks there were, about thirty per coke praises class 1, the rest chose to have class two, many preferred to keep fighting and learn how to kill walkers than to wait on base for the triumphs of others.
They all preferred to fight and that shows that this world has changed, turning people into strong fighters who prefer to protect their lives with their own hands.
At this point, of the six people who had been rescued, five had already been evaluated. As planned, they all lied on the equity questions and that was a normal thing to note on their record.
"You're last, don't be afraid!" Shane said as he looked at Ramon who had a distressed expression.
"Haha, even though I answered the questions truthfully, I still feel nervous."
At that moment, Ramon looked at the wires being placed on his fingers and felt a sensation filled with extreme nervousness. He didn't know what they do to people who lie, but it was clear that there was no good outcome for that kind of person.
But when he looked at Shane who seemed to have a calm expression, he felt much more afraid of what could happen to him in this place if the device didn't work properly or his emotions would play tricks on him.
At that moment, Shane who was standing to the side shared with him a breathing method to maintain control in this situation. With that method, Ramon gradually calmed down and began to answer the questions calmly.
As the time went much slower, Ramon felt himself getting more and more tense and just when he thought he was never going to finish, Nara's voice reached his ears.
"Alright, this seems to be it."
Hearing this, Ramon let out a sigh of relief and then looked at Shane with a grateful smile.
"Alright buddy, let's get you and your friends a bath, it will serve you well for a good rest later." Shane took Ramon and the others to get their showers.
According to the results, none of these people were anyone dangerous, except for a few questions that most answered by lying, most were simple answers that everyone in their situation would answer that way.
In short, there was nothing to worry about for these new people who were welcomed by the community.
