Jerry Was Head Over Heels

It felt as if he had not slept for years.

Aiden woke up to the sound of his phone vibrating furiously next to his pillow. A quick glance at the window told him that it was already late in the night.

"Oh God," Aiden mumbled before he quickly grabbed his phone. It was his grandmother.

"Grandma?"

Grandma Thompson's angry voice blared from the speaker.

"Aiden Thompson! I have called ten times! Where have you been? I am this close to calling the police!!"

Aiden wiped at his face.

"I think I fainted. No, Grandma, I am okay now. I was sleeping the whole afternoon. I don't think I can come home tonight. I will be back tomorrow. Please pack first..."

After ensuring his grandmother repeatedly that he was doing fine, Aiden bade his grandmother good night and ended the phone call. He gazed at the night sky outside and sighed again.

The curtain was drawn to the side and the doctor in charge approached Aiden's bed.

"You finally woke up. Do you feel better?"

"Yeah, I... Did I faint?"

The doctor nodded with a smile.

"A fellow student carried you here. I believe he went home already."

"Oh."

"You passed out due to severe anemia. Proper meals and sufficient sleep are very important especially after you start going to university."

Severe anemia.

Aiden sighed in his heart. How long did his body need to generate more blood? Hopefully he could get used to selling blood monthly without passing out repeatedly. That would be a hassle.

"I will pay more attention to my body."

The doctor nodded, satisfied with Aiden's answer.

"I fear you cannot go home tonight. Why not ask for a room at the student dormitory for the night?"

"Yes, that is a good idea. Thank you, Doctor."

Aiden gathered his phone and bag and slowly walked out of the room.

Riverdale University had a small dormitory with twenty rooms that students could book free of charge in case they were unable to go home in time. Most of the time, the single-bed rooms were booked by students in their final year who were studying frantically for the final exams that they forgot the time. It was Aiden's first time booking a room in the dormitory.

Lost in thought, he bumped against another person. The other person was carrying a lot of food and drinks. When he bumped against Aiden, everything dropped on the floor and scattered between them.

"Oh I am so sorry," Aiden said quickly while picking up the scattered bread and boxed meals.

"No no no, I am the one who was daydreaming. I did not pay attention to the front," the other man quickly said while picking up the juice bottles. Thankfully the bottles were still sealed perfectly. Nothing was spilled.

As soon as they heard each other's voices, they looked up at the same time dumbfoundedly.

"... Jerry Tanner?"

Jerry's astounded face gave way to a bright smile.

"You remember my name?" he asked with a silly grin plastered all over his face.

Jerry bought all the goodies to eat together with Aiden. It was not allowed to eat at the Medical Centre, so they went to eat at the empty canteen's dining hall.

After meeting a few times without proper introduction, no one was happier than Jerry to learn Aiden's full name. He would have done a victory dance on the spot if he did not care about his reputation on campus.

"So your name is Aiden Thompson. Sheesh. It has been so difficult to find out," Jerry complained.

"Have you been asking around?"

Jerry scratched at his chin and forced himself to laugh. He was unsure about Aiden's opinion about him if he knew that Jerry had been asking his friends about a certain blond guy with the most amazing brown-golden eyes that he had ever seen. His friends had called him nuts on several occasions.

"Thanks for taking me to the Medical Centre," Aiden said with a smile.

"Oh, yes. No, not a problem at all. I was shocked to find you passed out under a tree like that. What was the problem?"

"Just a little anemic."

Jerry stared at the young man next to him.

His golden eyelashes were long and beautiful. His soft golden curls were similar to his little sister's favorite doll's hair, only shorter.

Aiden was shorter than Jerry by fifteen centimeters or so. His upper body formed a perfect triangle. He had broad shoulders that narrowed down to a sexy waist. Jerry swallowed his saliva when his eyes wandered to Aiden's narrow waist. He imagined putting an arm around said waist. Would his body fit well in his embrace...?

Jerry would love to protect Aiden his whole life long, to be there for him whenever he felt faint and weak...

"Jerry?"

Jerry's eyes wandered to Aiden's pale, pink lips. They looked as tender as rose petals. What would they taste like...?

"Jerry!"

Jerry snapped back from his daydreams.

"W...what?"

"I was asking if you plan to get a room in the dormitory."

"Oh yes. Yes, of course."

The two people made their way to the dormitory to ask for two rooms for the night. The dormitory keeper checked her book and shook her head.

"Only one room in the male dormitory is available. All others are booked."
