Chapter no.137 Dance with the Abyss: The Rain's Paradox

[Day 25]

Dear Diary,

A new idea has occurred to me. Until now, my experiments have focused solely on inanimate objects, but what about the Ammit and its cubs? This experiment is risky but necessary if I wish to fully understand the spectral rain's effects.

Today, I managed to secure a small clipping of a toenail from one of the Ammit cubs when it was sleeping. It was an arduous task, filled with the constant fear of getting discovered and becoming a prey. But, I succeeded. The nail clipping, I have decided, will be the subject of my next experiment. It belongs to a living entity and holds within it a part of the Ammit cub's spiritual Qi. Will the rain erase this as well?

Dear Diary,

Just as the spectral rain began, I carefully held the tiny sliver of the Ammit cub's toenail aloft and then let it drop. It was swallowed by the spectral rain, disappearing into its cascading curtain.
