Chapter 40: running into some old friends

The land scape slowly changed around us the farther west we want through the states we never stopped other then to eat and us the bathroom the rest of the time we was on the road even when I sleeped Prime took over droving Layla also got to drive a bit sense I could tell she was really bored in this time luckily when we stopped at the nearest store it was a monster din so we sort of slottered all the monsters in the building and took clothes, food, and water free of charge Layla also took a DS and that's what she has been playing on to keep her occupied sadly just like most half-blood she didn't like sitting still at all so I let her drive so she didn't do something out of boredom all though she still did that ones she literally crashed Prime into a fast food places that were a monster in her excuse was cuz she was hungry but I knew the truth she was just bored and wanted to do something that was 2 days ago since then I haven't let her touch the well even when she begged my it was the morning of the 4 day we just hit Nevada and I seen a green sign that read next exit Grovewood 1 mile I side just as father said I took the exit and we drove through this small town nothing really of note it was your normal Nevada small town but the bronze statue in the center of the city of a woman holding a basket her face was covered by a cloth plus she was looking down which didn't help her could but I have a feeling we are about to find out soon she nodded we drove through the city till we hit the outskirts of town that's when I seen a school a sign next to it read Demeters private school we parked in the parking lot a little hidden by the trees I through Prime in park as I looked at this place so what's the plan Layla asked I shrugged no clue we ant young enough to pass as middle schoolers she laughed Yea you would definitely not pass a middle schooler with a beard definitely not I laughed nodding y not I spread out my senses and see if I can't find anything fun Layla nodded get on it I am getting bored I rolled my eyes and closed my eyes using my soul sense and valuable detection I could feel all the people in the school 4 people stood out to me the first 2 was monsters both was posing as students great female cyclops ug there suck a headache I muttered the 3 person was a kid probably 12 or so he had on a simple green shirt and blue jeans he had brown hair his foot was bouncing nervously he was also tapping his pencil on the table the boy shinned with a green energy the person next to I actually recognized Red I muttered the fuck and it was red his fury red hair was as red as normal he looked a little older but not by much he had a blue shirt that said don't hate goats on it he had his normal jeans and fake feet he was pale he kept on glancing at the female cyclops which was towards the front of the room fear written all over his face that's when I senses a very familiar van that just pulled into the parking lot Drake Snarky I smiled both hadn't changed much Drake had his Normal cold expression he looked older more mature plus he bulked up Sharky sat next to him she had her normal enthusiastic smile she had a white and blue surfers short her beed necklace around her neck with that shark tooth at the end of it and I could sense both of there weapons Drake had two brass knuckles in his pocket and Sharky was playing with a gold coin but there eyes they was battle scared and there eyes gave that away that's when I noticed a bell ring it was lunch the kids ran out of the classroom Red and that boy tried to do the same but the two cyclops blocked there path they turned around yelling and they want out the window Red led the boy towards the van but that's when boom the wall behind them exploded open and two screaming females cyclops came running out one bellowed come back goat boy you will taste good for my lunch I heard a scared goat bleet naa I taste horrible ask my girlfriend the other cyclops picked up part of the wall and through it towards red and that boy but a bident with its blade glowing green connected with the wall in mid air the second that bident touched that wall it shattered into pieces and the bident didn't stop it flow and hit the cyclops through it in the throat Uh oh she said before turning to dust sister no the other cyclops and she charged at the van but the sound of squealing tires range out and a black charger drifted around the van and slammed into the cyclops the momentum from the charger stopped the cyclops in place the wheels was spinning in the ground as it pushed against the cyclops she screamed angrily and reached out to touch the charger but when her hands touched it body her hands started to burn she screaming in pain that's when the passenger window rolled down and a short spear got throughout the window at the cyclops who was still reeling from the shock of being badly burnt the short spear sank I to its head turning it to dust the bident and Spear shot back to the charger and two different hands cot them I looked behind me to see the van was holling ass out of her I smiled and slammed on the gas turning the wheel following them the van tried to out run us sadly it just wasnt fast enough we got out side of the town into the countryside that's when the van came to a complete stop it sliding in the gravel I hit the brakes also and we slid to a stop nothing happened at first till the driver and passenger door opened and Drake and Sharky stepped out and walked to the back of the van both of them had cold expressions and there weapons appeared in there hands Sharky yelled who are you stranger y you following us Layla and I looked to each other not responding Sharky then yelled y did you help us huh what do you want I rolled down my window a little and responded y shouldn't I help 3 old friends Sharky and Drake was shocked hearing my words Sharky then pointed her falchion at us distrust in her eyes step out of the care show your faces I laughed sure and I opened my door stepping out Layla followed me we stepped to the front of Prime we leaned against it's hood both of us had little grins on are faces Sharky and Drake was stunned seeing are faces what do thy thank Wife do they remember us Layla nodded I believe they do Husband but who knows it's has been 5 years so perhaps they all forgot about us I nodded indeed that could be the case so should we introduce our selfs Layla laughed that's up you I nodded and looked back to Sharky and Drakes still stunned expressions hello Drake and Sharky it has been a while hasn't it let me introduce myself once again and I tipped my hat saying yall can call me Hunter Nekros this is my loving wife and partner Layla Nekros she waved smiling on the side Sharky then spoke Hunter is that really you I nodded but of course Sharky who else would I be hehe Drake made a few hand signs which meant we all thought you two was dead we burned a burial shroud and everything I laughed o I hope you all had one hell of a party for us but naa mate we ant dead Sharky then yelled the fuck where have you been all these years and y you taking with that heavily of an accent little did Layla or Hunter know was they picked up a accent from that time period hell even the way they talk sounds weird to Sharky and Drake it's like talking to a old person some words you understand some you have no fucking idea what it means and that what was happening here a look of confusion spread across my face realizing all that but I didn't care that ant the right question to ask lass it isn't where but when these passed 5 years we have been stuck in the 1860s well we arrived at the date 1862 you 3 I don't remember the civil war was wild haha Drake and Sharky looked to one another then back at us Sharky asking you want back in time to the time of the civil war I nodded pulling out a hemp cigarettes I lit it before responded indeed we have its been a wild 5 years but we are back stronger then ever a huge grin spread across Drake and Sharky face they put away there weapons that's when Red and that boy got out of the car when Red seen me a huge smile spread across his face he didn't have his pants or shoes on showing off his goat half you been good old friend I asked he nodded I have how about you Hunter I shrugged I have um been fighting a war for 5 years but I got married and I looked to Layla smiling face so it ant all bad Layla pinched my side saying I think you mean to say it's been great wouldn't had changed anything right and she smiled at me that wasnt a smile I quickly nodded yes mam your right good she scoffed Red laughed you look happy I nodded my eye fell over the boy he was shyly looking everywhere I walked forward and crouched down in front of him saying so you are who I was tasked to protect huh so how you doing shrimp I asked the lad smiled I am ok sir thank you I could see a bit of lingering confusion and rejection but I seen acceptance also good he is strong willed he will fit in well I held out my hand smiling Hunter son of Hades and Hel the kid eyes want side but he smiled and took it shaking my hand before saying Will I nodded good to meet you Will the beautiful woman over there is Layla daughter of Aries Layla waved at him Will waved back the crazy short woman over there with the shark tooth necklace is Sharky daughter of Poseidon and the quiet beef cake next to her is Drake son of Tiamat Drake waved wall Sharky yelled hi who you calling crazy you fucking bastard and she tried to kick me in the ass but I disappeared into shadow reappearing next to Will outside of Skarkys range I tapped off the ash from my cigarette saying someone shorty needs to take a chill pill it was only a joke Sharky glared at me her teeth clenched I ant short she gralled I laughed that's what a short person would say Sharky yelled stomping her feet that does it I will kill you my self and her falchion reappeared in her hand and she charged at me thrusting her weapon at my chest I disappeared and reappeared behind her one finger in my ear saying missed Sharky turned around her face turning red but then Will broke out laughing Sharky and I looked to him confused but then we realised Drake, Layla and Red was practically rolling on the floor ground laughing Sharky and I looked to each other then started laughing with them after a few moments of us laughing I looked to Will asking I guess you don't got a weapon right he shook his face definitely not I then looked to Sharky asking and I assume neither of you got a spare weapon Sharky shook her head I looked to Drake but he also shook his head I side that's what I thought no matter I was going to do this anyway I pulled out that cutless I flipped around and offered him the hilt he hesitated take it lad a half blood should always be ready to fight besides we have no us for it so it's a gift he slowly reached out and took it from me he started at his reflection from the blade that's when something appeared over his head it was a blue deer head eating a pomegranate seed I laughed well that answers that question in indeed it does Sharky said smiling Will was shocking
