Three weeks , it took Alex three whole weeks to regrow his tail back to the state it was in before he lost it. The scholars were surprised at his ability to regrow his tail but easily made the mental leap that quite a few smaller reptiles had such an ability as well so maybe it was just a coincidence. He was very busy in this time as he ate the various things he needed to level up his defenses. Much to a lot of peoples confusion Alex had also been requesting extremely toxic things from the stockpile.

If before it was weak poisons he ate on the regular now if anyone even got close to the fumes of the concoction he was making they would be put on their death beds. Quite the distance outside the town Alex had a distillery setup in place that was being constantly subjected to his toxic ingredients to create the most concentrated extract from each of them. His plan was to fuse all of these horribly lethal poisons together before downing the mixture to raise his [toxirosys] as far as he could. Besides that he also left many of the people in astera in confusion and horror as he had taken to breaking the bones in his claws on the regular.

The reason for this was because this was the method needed to level up the [hardened bones] trait he got as a result of zorah breaking most of the bones in his body. It was a cruel but effective method to prevent such a situation from repeating. As it stood at this moment it took his full T5 strength to break one of his bones since the trait had leveled up to six. This meant that any amount of force below that threshold had no chance of breaking his bones any more.

Another thing Alex had taken to doing was sparring with Zain whenever the man was free which benefited both of them immensely. For Zain it let him actually start perfecting the swordsmanship that all hunters used towards a more reliable form. This sparring also sharpened Zain's mind and instincts to be able to predict and handle unknow fighting tactics. For Alex these spars let him slowly but steadily begin to work out a combat style that suited him , at least against people anyways.

As an added bonus Alex even got a trait from the spars called [smooth scales] that removed most of the roughness from his scales. This made it harder for Zain's blade to slice through them since the blade had slid off the surface of the scales. The women of astera fell in love with this change since it also gave alex's scales a reflective property similar to jewels. Zain had started to get suspicious of Alex however as he noticed that Alex had clearly adapted to his attacks rather than coincidentally changed in such a direction as a result of growing up.

Alex changing coincidentally to something he was exposed to once or twice was something that could be written off , but multiple times was a pattern. Zain reported this to the commander and after looking over the records that had been created to document Alex the man confirmed Zain's theory as a fact. This was an earthshattering revelation for the entirety of astera as it suddenly all came together in their minds about all of the weirdness Alex ever exhibited. He wasn't just acting in a random manner but rather forcing himself to adapt and change in the direction he chose.

The scholars couldn't figure out an accurate title for Alex as a monster due to all the changes he made to himself but with this knowledge they finally had one , {EVOLVING DRAGON: OBSIDIRON}. Alex didn't really care that the jig was up about his abilities since even with this knowledge it wasn't like the people of astera treated him any different. It wasn't all good news however as people started to try and "help" him adapt to different things. Despite being done with the best of intentions Alex had ended up done right rejecting most of them or the useless traits that he got from the attempts.
