The foreman walked over to the large mass of metal and began examining it with a serious expression. As the person in charge of keeping track of all of astera's resources and general stock the man was extensively well learned in valuable resources. Alex and everyone waiting to hear what the man identified the stuff as were confident in his knowledge. Everyone watched as the man did something odd however as he drew out a knife and gently tapped the metal with it. the moment he did a loud melodious chime rang out for close to a minute straight before stopping.

"Well i'll be damned!" the man said with an amazed expression after the chime ended. "I had only heard of this stuff before now , almost didn't believe it existed." the man said honestly. "Don't keep us in suspense boss what is this stuff?" one of the workers asked curiously. No doubt about it , that there's astralite. Time was a few centuries ago the stuff was used in all the best equipment for hunters before the easily gathered stuff had entirely dried up. It was named thanks to the heavenly chime it released when struck with metal. In todays age stuff's worth a small fortune to any smith worth his salt" the foreman said with a wide grin.

The crowd collectively gasped at the information they had just received before staring at the mass of metal in awe. The foreman realized a problem however in the form of a large black reptile standing near the deposit patiently. "Ah little fella you've got me in a bit of a pickle here ya know? fact is i can't actually think of anything equal to this here metal to trade with you." the man explained with an embarrassed look.

Alex looked speechless at this announcement 'oi! don't tell me you are going back on your promise now!' he thought while giving the foreman a very serious stare. The man chuckled awkwardly "tell ya what , how's about you get pick of the litter amongst anything that passes through so long as it's not promised to another until the debt's clear?" he offered sincerely. Alex nodded in agreement since that was roughly his plan to begin with , he simply just didn't know that his first find would be such a treasure and with it being so plentiful too.

Alex had seen close to a dozen similar deposits of this same metal and that was just in his limited vision. "I'm probably just putting myself in more debt but did you happen to see any more of this stuff when you were down there? same deal as the first if so" the foreman asked curiously. The whole crowd watched as Alex seemed to break out in a wicked grin and nodded. This event was listed as the first major achievement belonging solely to Alex in the guilds book. The foreman felt the sting however when Alex consistently lead people in boats to over fifty different deposits around astera alone.

As it stood Alex was given free reign over the goods around the port unless it was promised to someone else as promised , life was good for alex. To no surprise at all the first thing Alex picked out was a small tuna just barely a meter long. He spent two days abusing his compact stomach to devour large amount of the fish whenever it was empty. as a bonus for repeatedly using the trait he even got it to level two. this let him eat even more food before he became full even though it was only a small amount more.

The moment Alex finished the tuna , bones and all , he got the notification of successfully unlocking the [swimming muscles]. Till now Alex had only acquired passive traits as well as those he couldn't really control such as those pertaining to his diet. The [swimming muscles] however was entirely different as over the next three days he gained extra muscles in each of his limbs as well as along both of his sides that turned him into a powerful swimmer. these muscles also increased his physical strength by at least a single fold when he moved in a way that used them , which was nearly always.
