Max used blood manipulation right back to contest over Dracula's control of blood making the blood bullet barrage slow down considerably to the point that they could only splash harmlessly against the hard exterior of the ships like a droplet of water.

In terms of blood mastery, Dracula was stronger than Max. However, what Max could do was to reduce the power of Dracula's attacks by close to 90% which meant that they were left with only a fraction of their true abilities.
