Hue eyed her with his wide-open eyes. "Are you going to punch me?" he asked as if his life was on the line.
Rosella froze, thinking about his words again. Why on earth would she punch him out of the blue? Plus, they have only just met!
Then, she asked, "For whatever reason do I have to punch you?" Her tone was still calm although her chest was beating hard.
Hue lifted the full basket with a very worried expression. He looked as anxious as if he had broken a very expensive family heirloom. "I've been adding more lobster into this basket and, honestly, I have no money...on me, to pay for it. But, if you want to punch me, let me know your cue so that I can prepare myself," he said.
He was dead worried because he was a jobless son-in-law and held the post as a house husband, and it was something that none of Jennet's family knew...so far.
Rosella inhaled a deep breath after she heard that. Gosh, he had her worry for nothing!
