“What happened?” Marvina shot a question after Jennet finished talking on the phone. She noticed a tremendous change in her facial expression it had gotten pale.
Jennet turned at her and replied with a trembling voice, “I must get to the p-police station right now. They demand my presence there. M-my h-housemate is there as well.”
Her face fell as she mumbled mindlessly with dead eyes, “Marvina, he must have lodged a report about me. Am I going to jail now? I never thought my freedom would come to an end soon.”
Marvina threw herself on her, panicking as well. “Stay calm! We are not certain if they called you for that. Think positively!"
“Positive? How to do that right now? I can only think of myself worming up at the corner of a cell …” Jennet had lost her courage as she looked like a dried-up squid, void of the will to live.
