Mill looked like she had seen a ghost, Mauve was not sure how that was possible as vampires were already paler than normal. The vampire's reaction made her briefly forget why she was embarrassed.
Mauve quickly bent her head forward, "Sire," she cried. "I-I didn't know you were here," her voice sounded unsteady.
"I am sure," Jael's voice sounded stern.
Mauve frowned and turned around to look at Jael, that was when she remembered she was on his lap. She immediately tried to stand up from his feet but he prevented her from moving.
He held her still and Mauve had no option but to stop struggling. The situation was already awkward enough. She returned her attention to the tension in the room, something was definitely wrong.
"Was that Danag you were speaking to?" Jael asked casually.
Mauve noticed Mill's hands on the tray tightened, she still had her head bent and stood unmoving by the open door. "Y-yes," she replied.
