Stare

The hot atmosphere had already incarnated into the bodies of Alex, Abel and the other staff. This temperature almost reached 50 degrees, making anyone who came out of their residence might think twice.

Abel frowned when she saw the sunlight coming into the VIP waiting room at the Dubai international airport. She looked for a scarf in his backpack to cover wrinkles and sun and to respect the culture here.

Not long after, Edwin, one of the staff from the office who was on a business trip to Dubai, provided information that the car that had picked up Alex and his secretary had arrived.

"Okay, thanks for the information."

The two of them walked hand in hand towards the direction the pick-up car was, still awkward due to Alex's actions on the plane, making Abel slightly spaced out. The image of Alex's face in front of him seemed to keep smiling; the smile on his breath and his thin moustache didn't want to leave his mind.

You can see a Bugatti Veyron car with black and silver colours neatly parked. Alex immediately waved to Abel, whose handling was slightly slower than his; how could Alex's long legs not reach Abel'sAbel's two steps?

"Come on, quickly!" Alex said in his trademark tone. Alex didn't want the driver who picked him up to wait any longer because one of Alex'sAlex's principles was to be on time.

Abel's eyes widened when she saw the Bugatti Veyron car that would take him to the hotel; she didn'tdidn't expect to be riding in the most expensive car in the world.

"Today, we rest at the hotel. Tomorrow I will have a meeting from morning to evening, said Alex firmly.

Abel nodded his head while imagining how tired it would be tomorrow to meet many influential people and follow Alex, a very social butterfly.

Cars were driving fast, and the traffic jams in Dubai were not as bad as in Jakarta this afternoon. Abel enjoyed the trip by constantly looking out the window and taking several pictures of the beautiful scenery with his cell phone.

After travelling for almost half an hour, Abel and Alex arrived at the hotel where she would stay for a few days. Abel's eyes widened when she saw the view in front of the hotel, which was very lovely, the expanse of the blue ocean hotel and the beautiful trees that were the spotlight of this hotel.

For a moment, Abel took a deep breath, still unable to believe that his two feet were in Dubai.

"I want to have lunch first. If you want to go straight to your room, go ahead," Alex said flatly.

Without answering Alex's question, Abel immediately followed him from behind. She didn'tdidn't want to leave his boss alone because of his responsibilities as a secretary and possibly a personal assistant in Dubai.

"Good afternoon," said a maid standing at the door.

Alex immediately told him that he wanted to sit by the window with a beach view; after talking with the waiter, they were finally escorted to the best picture from this restaurant which directly leads to the beach.

"One set of premium Dubai food," said Alex to the waiter.

The ringing of the telephone broke Abel's reverie, who was enjoying the beach breeze. Alex immediately picked up the phone with a severe face; after a few minutes of talking Alex stood up straight with his angry face.

"Why was it cancelled?" said Alex a little loudly.

Already twice, Alex spoke on the phone and said the word "cancelled" who knows what annoyed him? Abel did not dare to question because of the look on his face that was no longer friendly.

"Order is ready," said the waiter while placing the food that Alex had ordered.

"Damn it! Airlangga has just messed up in the office!" muttered Alex, which reached Abel'sAbel's ears.

Abel's eyes immediately widened; little did she suspect that it was Airlangga who annoyed his boss.

"Is Airlangga playing his game this fast to destroy his brother?" Abel said in his heart.

What's the matter, sir? Maybe I can help."

"Airlangga cancelled cooperation with well-known oil brands in Indonesia without asking for my approval. The brand confirmed to me this afternoon," explained Alex while holding his forehead, indicating that he was very dizzy with this situation.

Abel tried to calm Alex down by stroking his hand while considering whether he should tell Alex about his brother's evil intentions.

Alex ate with gusto and was in a bit of a hurry because he wanted to go to the hotel room and think about the work contract being cancelled due to Airlangga.

"Later, I'll try to cross-check it again, sir; it's related to the work contract with the brand. I will also contact the head office of the company for re-confirmation and the reasons for our company terminating the work contract just like that," said Abel, occasionally swallowing hard to speak at length.

"Airlangga has shown signs of hatred toward me for the past few weeks. Starting from work and also….," Alex stopped what he said then looked into Abel's eyes so seriously, "and also when I tried to get close to you," said Alex flatly.

Silence floated between Abel and Alex; there was only the sound of the waves crashing from the beach and many people chatting. Abel was confused about what to answer; she took a deep breath and tried to control his mind and heart.

"I am pleased with those words, words I will never forget in a place as good as this. But why now, when I'm not ready?" Abel said in his heart.

Abel immediately answered with a beautiful smile because he also couldn't lie to his pleasure.

"During the two weeks here, you don't overthink work in Indonesia because you have to focus on work in Dubai. And also, take care of your health because of significant weather changes," said Alex while stroking Abel's hand.

After eating, Abel and Alex walked hand in hand towards their respective rooms, but while on the way, Abel saw an ice cream shop that caught his attention.

"I'm sorry, sir. I want to buy ice cream first. Do you want an ice cream cone?"

Alex nodded and followed Abel, who was about to walk to the ice cream shop.

"one vanilla ice cream cone and one chocolate ice cream cone."

A piece of the photo fell when Abel managed to open his blue wallet; without realizing it, the picture flew. Alex, who was behind him, immediately grabbed the shot.

"Two cones of vanilla and chocolate ice cream," shouted the seller.

Two ice cream cones were already in Abel's hands; when Abel turned around, he was surprised because Alex was not beside him.

"This is the photo that fell from your wallet, but may I ask who the man in the wallet was?" asked Alex flatly.
