A couple of days later and you walked into class, prepared for another day of school. You saw Adrien at his desk with Jake in front of him, laughing and joking. Adrien spotted you and waved you over, Jake doing the same shortly after. You walked over with a smile on your face.
"Hey, Y/N! How come you left yesterday?" Adrien asked. You shrugged, not really knowing the answer yourself.
"You know... Reasons." You shrugged. Did that make you sound weird? Yeah, it probably did.
"Y/N was probably just tired." Jake shrugged. You mentally thanked him before the conversation moved on. You mostly listened but injected your opinions and other things where you could. It was nice.
But it came to an end when classes started. You and Jake sat down in your seats beside each other. Jake passed you a note.
Anything exciting going on?
You thought for a moment, before remembering.
Oh, right, I checked out the game you showed me. It's pretty cool, there's an event this thursday.
Nice, my dad wants to do something that day, so I'm not gonna be able to check it out. Tell me what's going on though, okay?
Alright
Anything else happening on Thursday?
Uhhh, my aunt and uncle want to videochat, if that counts.
haha, nice
You didn't do much for the rest of that lesson.
Eventually, it was lunchtime, and Marinette and Alya approached you. You were slightly surprised but talked to them anyway. Jake smiled at you and left to go to Adrien.
"You two are such good friends! I'm happy for you, girl." Alya laughed.
"You make it sound like I got a boyfriend," You scoffed. You all giggled.
"I think he's pretty cool, though. A little nosy, though..." Marinette smiled. You cocked an eyebrow.
"Huh? What do you mean?" You asked. Marinette laughed awkwardly.
"W-Well, he came over to my bakery, and when he saw me he started to ask loads of questions since he was surprised I worked there. When he found out I lived there, he wanted to see my room, and well... He saw all my Adrien stuff!" Marinette cried, burying her head into her hands in embarrassment.
"Ah, it's okay..." Alya spoke sympathetically, patting the girl on the back.
"Ahh, Jake likes Adrien himself, not in a like-like way, I mean... So I'm sure it'll be fine." You laughed. The two looked at you, surprised expressions planted on their faces.
"Oh, so he likes Adrien?" Alya asked.
"Yeah, he's an Adrien fanboy, I think. He always asks and talks about him. I might be wrong, though." You shrugged with a laugh. You continued to talk, the conversation drifting through various different subjects. It was fun.
It was lunchtime, and you were with Jake and Adrien. Nino was also there, but he just left with Alya to get some food.
"Hey, guys, do you think you'd be up for a meeting with my dad? He really wants to meet the both of you!" Jake smiled. You and Adrien looked to each other awkwardly. Meeting a friend's parents? Ehh... Jake noticed your uncomfortableness and laughed, "He's a nice guy, don't worry. He's just really glad I made friends and wants to meet you both, nothing too bad."
"Huh... I guess I could go," Adrien shrugged.
"Yeah, me too!" You smiled. Jake's smile widened.
"Alright! Make sure your schedules are clear, okay?" Jake spoke, giving you both a close-eyed smile.
"Hmm... I'm actually clear for today." Adrien smiled.
"A-Ah... I was gonna play the game and call my aunt, but, I mean, I could cancel..." You gulped. Jake shook his head.
"No way! You have to call them, it's important to talk to your carers often. Plus my dad would get angry at me if I made you come when you had something scheduled with your aunt and uncle... Heheh... Oh, and I wanna see what the game event is about too! Text me when it happens, alright?" Jake smiled. You nodded.
"Yeah, alright. I will." You nodded.
"Alright, it's settled." Jake smiled.
You were at your desk. You felt fine; your emotions not particularly strong in one way or another.
"Ahhh, this is boring..." You sighed. You had played the game event, which was actually pretty disappointing and texted Jake about it. He didn't reply since he was probably busy. You'd also called your aunt, but she had to leave halfway through and your uncle came to take over, which was undeniably awkward. It was best to leave it there.
You span on your chair tiredly, before you caught a glimpse of something purple in the corner of your eye. It went into the paper in the corner of your desk, and the purple butterfly appeared on your eyes. You sighed.
"Hey, Hawkmoth..." You breathed out, waiting for his response.
"Y/N L/N. You were abandoned by your fr-"
"No, I don't want a speech." You sighed.
"Well, I'll just turn you then-"
"Noo, I'm too lazy to be a villain...." You grumbled. Hawkmoth made confused noises.
"Wh- Uh, but-- Huh?"
"I'm sad and I want ice cream and laziness~" You sighed.
"W- Grrgh. I need you to fight Ladybug and Chat Noir! You were so set on taking them down last time, what about now?! You must fight!" Hawkmoth yelled, causing you to laugh. You could practically hear the surprise on his face.
"Ahhh, thanks for being here to talk to me..." You sighed.
"Wh... I'm not here to talk to you. Or comfort you." Hawkmoth grumbled.
"Hm, I know... I just needed to be less alone, not to be comforted. This chat has made me happy, but I'd like to go eat all the icecream, now..." You sighed.
"What...? But...???" Hawkmoth gulped confusedly. "Fine, I'll choose another victim!"
The akuma left you alone.
Ahh, you were such an akuma repellant.
You waved as the akuma left. You let out a sigh as you got up, groaning as you stretched. You trudged down the stairs to get some food. You searched around, noticing some [Sweet food] laying around in the freezer. That was strange... When did you get that? You always ate it within a day. You shuffled around in the fridge some more to see some bread from Marinette's bakery.
Huh...? When did you get that?
You thought for a moment, before realising.
Oh.
That's right. You'd gone to Marinette's bakery on that day. That day you found Ladybug. That day where you didn't remember anything. Marinette saw you turn into your whispy form, you kidnapped her and...
You found out it was her. She was Ladybug.
Marinette was Ladybug.
You spent the rest of the day stressing over whether you should tell Marinette about this...
Another day of school. You were feeling surprisingly good as you walked into the building. You decided that telling Marinette about it would only make her worry. She hadn't told her partner, Chat Noir, so why should you know? So, you ignored it. At least you saw the resemblance now... You spied Jake in the corner of your eye. He was standing next to the vending machine. You decided to go head over.
You shouldn't have felt salty or anything; it'd make you seem like a bad friend. After all, he did only want you to call your mom. Whilst you were walking over and thinking to yourself, he bought his phone out of his pocket. He made a disgusted facial expression and grumbled. He walked over to the least populated area.
You could hear him faintly as he grumbled, "Ugh... one. Seriously, I wish she'd just die..."
You were going to just wave and then wait for him to finish with his call, but after hearing that, maybe you should listen... You got close enough so you could hear him, hiding behind a wall.
"Yes, yes... How am I? Trashy. I swear; I picked theperson to get close to. This Y/N girl is so freaking annoying!"
"She gets sad if I don't pay attention to her for like, one minute."
"But Adrien seems to like her, and the fact that I'm being so nice scores bonus points with him. She was easier to get closer too, since she's a loser with no friends, but like, she's clingy and annoying..."
"...Yeah, yeah, I know, be nice. I hate her, though."
"And Adrien, he's not as bad, but he just pisses me off. He's a spoiled brat and he's too nice. His over-respectfulness is just stupid, he doesn't know how to have fun! He's so awkward too... ...Okay, yeah, he's rich, which makes him slightly better..."
"...The meeting went well, a few more and I might be going over to his to charm his dad, aha... ...Oh shut up, I've got this. Okay, mom, gotta go. That clingy girl Y/N's probably searching for me, it'd be a pain if she heard this. Kay, bye."
He hung up.
You let out a sigh, waiting for him to leave. You were numb, devoid of any emotion. You walked off, leaving the school building, completely ignoring everyone and everything. You started to pick up pace and ran into a nearby alley, sliding down the wall to the floor with a sigh.
You started to chuckle humorlessly to yourself, bringing your hair upward and out of your face as you leaned your head back onto the wall, your core pulsing with misery.
"What a joke..."
