14: Night

Finally, you were home. You told the principal about what was happening since you would get in trouble for heading straight home. Eventually, the rest of the class also entered. You all got sent home shortly after. You saw Ladybug zip past you as you walked home, but paid no mind.

You trudged straight to your room after locking the front door. You glanced at the broken window with a sigh. No point in really locking your door if that was there... You already told your uncle and aunt, and they gave you a company to contact to fix it.

You decided to do just that, informing them of both broken windows. They would come later today. As you waited, you decided to finish off your homework, then you played games on your phone. They eventually came and fixed your window, though it took a while. You weren't so comfortable with strangers in your house, but you wouldn't leave them alone here. You may have been paranoid about them taking something... They were done sometime later.

Eventually, it got pretty late and you went to bed. Though, you couldn't sleep in the slightest. It was either too hot or too cold, your pillows were too soft or too hard, and two pillows were too much while one was too little. It was annoying. With a frustrated huff, you kicked the covers away and decided you'd go for a walk.

You threw on a jacket and some jeans, deciding your current plain T-shirt was okay for going out. Deciding the room was too warm, you opened the window to cool it down and left. You took a leisurely stroll, sighing happily as you took in your surroundings. Things were so pretty at night. You eventually got home again, feeling refreshed and relaxed. You were taking off your jacket as you entered the room when you stopped abruptly.

"Hello~" A voice sang, the source smiling brightly. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion.

"Chat Noir..?" You gulped. The boy smiled. He was sitting on your bed, one leg crossed and the other dangling off.

"That's right~ We got the Akuma! Are you happy?" He smiled. You hesitantly nodded.

"I guess..? Who was he?" You asked, still slightly unnerved by his appearance. How did he get in..? Oh, right, you left the window open...

"Ah, just a boy who moved here recently~ I'm guessing he was akumatized because he was forced to move here by his parents. Too bad... Do you know him?" He asked with a smirk. You shook your head.

"Nope." You replied, walking over to your desk and sitting in the office chair.

"Are you sure~?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. Why?" You asked, disguising your worry with fear. Had he seen Fader come in your room...?

"Because--... Uhm, well..." Chat Noir trailed off. Little did you know, he just caught himself about to say something only someone from your class would know. You were confused, but didn't mind. You let out a sigh as you swirled around on your chair.

"Well?"

"Nothing..."

"So, did you come here to keep me up or something? I have school tomorrow." You sighed, leaning your arm on your thigh and using it to support your head.

"Then why were you out just now? It's late, you shouldn't go out at night." The boy hmmphed. You scoffed.

"I couldn't sleep. What's your excuse?" You asked, spinning on your chair once more. You sat so you were facing the back of the chair, leaning over it with your arms and resting your head on it. Chat Noir slung his baton over his shoulder, crossing one leg over the other.

"Oh, I assure you, I have quite the busy schedule. It's the reason I'm here so late." He smirked. You laughed.

"A busy schedule? Doing what?"

"Hmm, I'd tell you, but I'm just so famous that you'd know right away... Wouldn't want you knowing my secret identity." He smirked, putting a finger to his lips in a shush motion, putting the other arm folded behind his back.

"Yeah, yeah..." You laughed, burying your head into your arms with a tired sigh. "I hate school... Lessons are boring as heck. I have friends, but it just feels uncomfortable when I'm around them... I don't get it. Do I want friends or not? If I do, why am I making it so hard for them anyway?"

"You're not making it hard." He replied. You sent him a confused look.

"And how would you know that?"

"W-Well..."

"Eh, whatever. Now I'm not getting to sleep for sure. Maybe I can just not go to school tomorrow..." You mumbled as you span boredly. Chat Noir got up and walked over to you. You glanced at him from the corner of your eye.

"Hmm, would you like to go somewhere with me?" He asked with a smirk, leaning closer to you. You shifted back slightly, trying to get a more comfortable distance between the both of you.

"Like where?" You asked, slightly suspicious.

"How about I show you?" He smirked once more. You were confused, but agreed.

"Uh... Okay?" You gulped. Suddenly, the boy swept you off the chair, carrying you bridal style. Your posture stiffened as your face heated up. You fidgetted and shifted frantically. "W-Woah, get off me!"

"Let's go!" He cheered. You yelled as he jumped out the window, carrying you along. He then extended his baton, throwing you both forward. You ceased your fidgetting and instead held on for life. He continued to jump down, then bring you back up. It felt like a roller coaster. You felt extremely uncomfortable in this position. You barely even people, who said you'd want to be carried?! Chat Noir landed on the rooftop. You were relieved to be on stable ground. You pushed at him, falling out from his arms and rolling, almost tumbling off the roof but quickly catching yourself.

"Owch..." You mumbled, sitting up. You bought your knees to your face.

"S-Sorry, you were just a little too rough there..." He laughed sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck. You glanced at him, but quickly glanced away.

"It's fine, just... Don't carry me, please." You mumbled.

"Hm? Why not?" He asked, confused.

"Just don't..." You mumbled once more.

An awkward silence ensued as you sat on the roof, the cat shifting uncomfortably in front of you. You make the stupid decision to try and break the silence.

"Uh, if we can't get to that place, you could just describe it, I guess..? Yeah, that's stupid... Sorry for ruining it all." You sighed, burying your face further into your knees. The Chat spun on his heel, walking a few paces, before spinning to the side. He smirked.

"We're already here."

You straightened out your posture, surprised by his sudden remark. He looked forward at the view before him. You got up from the ground and walked past the building blocking the view. As soon as you saw the sight, your eyes widened. The city was lit up, a perfect view of the river and the Eiffel tower, as well as other pretty buildings all lit up. Mellow yellow lights glistened as the river shone beautifully. It was a perfect view.

"Oh. Wow."

"Nice, right? Found it on one of my patrols with Ladybug."

"Hm... Nice. Can I take a picture?" You asked, almost hypnotized by the city's beauty. Chat Noir let out a laugh, snapping you out of your trance

"What are you asking me permission? Go ahead." He smirked.

"Ah, right..." You mumbled, slightly embarressed. You fumbled around and got your phone. Your camera was pretty good, even if you barely used it. You took a few pictures. They all turned out nicely. You were figuring out which to delete and which to keep when Chat Noir peaked over your shoulder.

"That one is slightly blurry, the lighting in that one looks wrong, that one is good, this one is better..." Chat Noir ranted, flicking through the pictures. He eventually picked out the best one.

"Huh, you sure know a lot about photography? Is your busy life being a photographer or something?" You asked, tilting your head with a smirk. He laughed.

"Nah, but I know a lot of photographists~"

"I see." You laughed. You were slightly curious as to what his life was like now...

Eventually, you walked home, since you wouldn't allow Chat Noir to carry you. He walked you home anyway, even if you kept telling him to go away. If he had such a busy life, he should got to sleep! Unless he was lying. That made sense...

You got home after a fairly long walk. It was a lot quicker when Chat Noir was flinging you both everywhere... It was also less annoying, since he kept popping up everywhere during your journey back and making puns at your every move. Though, it was an enjoyable sort of annoying. You went to bed once you got home. Chat Noir had disappeared somewhere along the road to your house, though you saw his silhouette fly off just before you entered his home, giving you a two-fingered salute before he left. You fell asleep as you stared at the beautiful pictures on your phone. One had Chat Noir standing, looking at the city. Of course he'd choose that one as the best...
