'The Time of Decision Making'

"There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book, or simply close it."***

Little did I know that when I closed a chapter of my life, I was starting a new one, with another beginning.

- - - - -

I opened my eyes to see a ceiling above me. I rubbed my eyes and looked around, only to find myself at my home.

And lying on the bed, across the sofa on which I was, was the boy.

"Why am I sleeping on the sofa? I thought my last moments had come. And what is that boy doing on over there on my bed?"

I got up and looked over at the boy. He was sound asleep.

I thought it was better not to disturb him.

I bent over to pick up my phone and sent a message to the affiliate, asking them to give me the details on what was happening.

It was already afternoon. I had my lunch and then searched for my book to read.

'True Reincarnations and Shape-shifting Monsters.'

"I can't find it." I wondered.

Then I saw it. It was under the boy's hands.

But that wasn't something to worry about. It was more troublesome to find that the boy had been reading page 150, which was way ahead of me.

"How in the world -?"

Then it all came back to me. That the monster I defeated yesterday wasn't killed. That the boy laid there, not moving. That he himself was the monster.

It dawned on me that the boy was a Shapeshifter himself.

My eyes widened at the knowledge I'd just gained, as I gawked at him in amazement.

I'd never met another transformer in my life. Seeing one, in front of my eyes, more powerful than me, made me surprised.

Then something strange happened.

He suddenly opened his eyes, jumped up on the bed and took my hands.

"Please become my teacher!"

I stared at him stupidly, with my jaw open and eyes wide in shock.

"What'd - what'd you say? Come again?"

"I want you become my teacher!" He shouted.

I freed a hand from his grasp and put it on my forehead instead.

"What nonsense are you blabbering on?" I shook my head.

I shoved a towel and some clothes in his hands.

"Go get tidied up. And then tell me a bit about yourself."

He nodded and went quietly.

"What's with him?" I scratched my neck, embarrassed a bit.

I sighed and sat down at the table to do lunch.

He was sitting in front of me.

"Oh my god! You gave me a shock there!"

I looked at him. He was already done cleaning himself up.

"How in the world-? You are faster than the speed of light!"

He just looked at me, then chuckled.

"What are you laughing at?"

"It's just my powers, teach!"

"Powers? What about them? And when did I say I'd teach you?"

"I'll tell you everything in a minute, teach. But you have to promise me something first."

"What do I have to do?" I asked him.

"You'll have to assist me with my training. You're the only one who can do it."

I raised my eyebrow, giving him a questioning look. He looked serious about this.

"I'll risk it. If he's not worth it, I'll just refuse."

I nodded my head slowly.

And so, he began telling me his story.

Kenji's vision reflects a part of my life, where I'd have to just begin a new chapter in my life, when I'd to make my decisions.
