Accompanied by that old yet resonant voice, Duncan heard a clanging sound in the cabin, as if someone hurried to get up and collided with objects in their rush, followed by footsteps drawing near. A hunchbacked old man with sparse white hair, dressed in a dusty coat, and with a face crisscrossed by wrinkles, appeared near the door.
The man, known as "the old ghost," stood in his steward's cabin, bent over, his somewhat cloudy eyes swept outside. It was unclear whether he had seen the figures of the people standing outside the door when he hurriedly lowered his head and mumbled, "The Queen has come for an inspection... I haven't even prepared properly... Those assistants are getting more and more unreliable, and so are the messengers..."
