Duncan was telling the truth—he really did head to a shop near the Cross District to buy Nina a bicycle after saying goodbye to Sherry.
He also took care of something that had long been planned, but delayed due to various reasons, until today: opening a bank account for himself.
Inside the Plunder City-State Bank, Duncan was waiting for the desk clerk to prepare the final form for him. The waiting was boring, so he focused on observing his surroundings.
Perhaps because it wasn't a day off, coupled with the fact that few citizens from the Lower City District needed to handle banking services, the already small bank lobby appeared rather empty. Of the five service windows, three were idle, and the employees, dressed in black uniforms, chatted behind them, while the bright electric light shone on the counter glass, casting a lazy halo.
