A sudden and intense sensation of falling overcame Duncan, stripping his spirit rapidly from the presence of the blazing sun. He felt as if he were being dragged by a powerful gravitational force through a deep and vast tunnel, the burning corona and the flesh that supported it quickly receding from his view— and in the next second, he felt a solid touch on his back.

The raw truth of the flesh beneath that sea of fire imprinted itself more strongly in his mind.
A few more seconds passed before these intense impressions gradually subsided in his brain, eventually leaving only that ethereal message echoing in the depths of his memory—
"Usurping Flame, extinguish me, please..."
