Dinner (3)

He held Li Ran's hand tightly, trying to tell her not to go. Li Ran could feel the tears welling up in her eyes when she saw how good the man was treating her.

She shook her head at him, telling him that no matter what, she won't let herself get hurt!

Li Zhengguo could sense the tension from the couple. He did not know why Lu Sichen had to be so guarded against Li An but he did not think much of it. After all, Lu Sichen has always been a cold and apathetic person.

He did not even pay much attention to his so called nephew Lu Beichen. That is the one the reasons why he was so shocked that a man like Lu Sichen will take a liking to his daughter.

Li Zhengguo cleared his throat. He felt that since they were already a family, Lu Sichen will slowly start to warm up to Li An. After all, Li An and Li Ran has always had a great relationship.

"Sichen, let's go to the study. I have something that I want to talk to you about" Li Zhengguo said.

Lu Sichen did not make any big movements but his hands that were holding Li Ran's tightened even more.

Li Ran smiled reassuringly at him. She knew that right now was not the time to fall out with Li An completely. If she does that, she will only earn a bad reputation for herself and Li An will come out as the victims.

Li An will be the only one benefiting. So she didn't want to do that yet. She will make sure to kick Li An out of the Li Ramin one day!

She will make sure that her reputation will be ruined and that she won't have a chance to make a come back!

"Brother Sichen, since Dad wants to talk to you, you should go with him. Xiao An and I haven't had a good talk with as sisters in such a long time" Li Ran said.

The "brother Sichen" successfully did it for Lu Sichen. He smiled and let go of her hand.

Anyway, he won't let Li Ran get hurt as long as he's here. He will see what kind of tricks Li An will be able to play with him here today!

Li Ran and Li An went over to Li Ran's room. Li Ran stepped into the room, the same sweet smile on her face.

Right now, it was a showdown of who could act more innocent!

"You know, I really miss my old room Xiao An. Even though the bedroom I share with brother Sichen is a lot bigger than this , this is the room where I grew up in of course. I miss it a lot" Li Ran said. Her words seemed harmeless on the surface but the two women in the room knew the underlying currents that that were brewing even though they did not bring it up.

Li Ran turned to face Li An and just as she had expected, her face was completely dark.

Li Ran smiled before asking innocently, "Did I say something wrong sister? You look so angry right now"

Li An clenched her teeth, supressing the fury in her heart. She has never felt so angry the way that she did today. "What are you saying Ran Ran? Of course this is your room. Why would I be angry?" Li An asked.

Even though she said this, she was boiling in anger . She wanted to torture Li Ran and tear off that damn smile from her face!

Li An has always wanted this room. Ever since she came into the Li Family home, she has eyes on everything that belongs to Li Ran. As long as it's something that Li Ran has, she either took it away or found a way to get the exact same thing.

Li An had heard Auntie Wang say once that Li Ran's room was chosen by her mother and that Li Ran doesn't know that.

Since then, she wanted the room, but Li Ran did not let her get close to it. Li Ran gave into her in everything else but she refused to give her the room!

This made Li An very angry before. Li Ran must have an ulterior motive for bringing it up!

That's right, Li Ran had brought it up on purpose. She wanted to annoy Li An. She knew that making an old fox like Li An lose her temper and make her disregard her image on purpose won't be easy and so she wasn't planning on doing that now.

She isn't going to do that now. Torturing Li An will be a slow and long process that she is going to savor every step of the way!

Right now, just making Li An irritated will be enough for her!

Seeing Li An go against her concience and lie that she isn't angry was enough to put Li Ran in a good mood for the rest of the night!

"Is that so? I thought that you were still angry at me because of the argument that we had in school that day" Li Ran said. She knew that Li An has called her in here because she was going to try and frame her for something while playing the pitiful and understanding younger sister card. She didn't have all the time in the world to play with Li An so she was setting the stage for her right now.

"No! Of course not! Why will you think something like that?" Li An asked. Damn this useless girl! Is this all a concidence or is she getting better and better at talking?

It seems that all of her words were a trap for her!

"Is that so? It's just that….I think I've done something wrong and I want to apologise" Li Ran said.

"No! There's nothing for you to apologise for! I…I didn't mean anything else. I was just worried about you and Brother Beichen. Are you really going to give up on him?" Li An asked.
